I'm glad we have Roxy to flip over the Republican Rock now and then And give us a peek at the vermin and rot below. In this case I wonder: Who cares WHO is point man on the negotiations? The Republican establishment, that's who.

When the controversy erupted, Reid asked Biden to lay low; In previous negotiations, Biden was a great deal-maker but some felt he was more conciliatory than necessary, yielding more to the Republican side to attempt to keep the peace. Reid thought that since the Tea Party Posse was being intransigent, (And a shutdown was assured) maybe he should answer them in kind. And it's worked- Republicans are taking a dubbing on all fronts.

So the Establishment sent out good Old John McCain to go on a Biden hunt- to try to get good old conciliatory Joe to emerge and cut a deal- something the GOP can point to as h Democrats caving. Not gonna happen, chumps.
