I'm partial to the 60's. It had everything, beautiful instrumentals, love songs, rock and roll, folk songs, protest songs and hard rock.

The 1930s. It was the Great Depression, and you had Rodgers, Hart, Kern, Hammerstein, the Gershwins, Berlin, Ellington, Porter, and many other brilliant songwriters and composers, all writing hit after hit, all in their primes.
What jerks to not include the '30s or '40s!
But the '30s wins.
My vote is for the 70s...Bowie, disco, the Stones at their peak. Glamorous and decadent always wins for me!
I'm also partial to 80s, but I don't think anyone is going to pretend they were the best!
Mid 70's through the 80's. "Human" by The Human League is my favorite 80's song hands down!

I know right? I vote 40s even though it's not really an option.
I'm an 80's girl!
I loved the 50's and 60's but I have to go with the 70's purely because of disco.
60's. Still traces of the early rockabilly roots, the English Invasion, Folk/Rock , pure Rock ( Joplin, Hendrix et al)Beach Boys, Motown.
Wasn't that a party!?

70s hands down!!!
Where else can you listen to that stone fox Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) and the magnificent Chaka Khan with Rufus?!
Realistically, I would say probably the 30s or 60s, but my personal favorite is the 80s.
What a stupid poll.
It is a stupid poll, and I did not partake. But, it's a fine thread. My pick would be the 1960s, because you had the most diverse music on the charts. The British Invasion, Motown, Rock and Roll, Acid Rock, Broadway, Instrumentals, Dance, etc. Just about any type of music was viable to be a hit.
Ideally, I could pick, like...65 to 75. It's hard to choose between the 60s and the 70s for me.
