Harrumph!
She still needs to wear it for me, seeing as though I DID half of her work -- who's making noises now?

I'm getting ready to record it! It's going to be SO HARD not to watch, but the TinMan's at rehearsal, and I want to share it with him.

Hi guys! What up?

Avoiding Tony, what's up with you, brd?

We had a nice evening, my mother in law arrived, so the Scotch and red wine was flowing. We sat at the kitchen table and caught up on the family gossip and planned the schedule and meals.

Wow. That sounds SO wonderful, brd. I'm currently in a state of change with my immediate family, whom I've always been very close with - and with the TinMan gone in the evenings at rehearsal, I find myself in a little meloncholy place.
But, the scotch flows freely here, as well

Including your sister in Denver?
My mother (and father) has only two children home for Thanksgiving, I would feel bad, but I bought them tickets for 6 days here in December.

The fact is, brd, my sister in Denver has been the source of all the problems! The family is gathering in January in Arizona to hash all this out (complete with a therapist moderator!) so my fingers are crossed. As the oldest, it's been difficult to experience this disintigration - there's almost a genetic need to 'keep it together'! I'm insisting that that three siblings go on a hiking journey at the Grand Canyon afterwards to cement whatever insight is gained.

Our family is much different. With ten, we are very splintered and the oldest in our family does not really do much to bring us together.
My oldest sister is the one that brings us together. My allies are the three oldest sisters. But, I am also close to the youngest sister. My brothers are a little wierd.

Our family has always been a core of four - my mother, and her three children. Even my mother's third husband (whom I adore) hasn't changed that dynamic - much to my chagrin. But with me in this committed situation now (going on six years) the priorities have changed - and it's not flying well with everyone. And my baby brother (12 years junior,) who has always stood in as my sister's surrogate 'other' (her history is convoluted, to say the least) has decided it's time to live his own life - thank god!
Bet that's more than you ever cared to know!

DG, of course I want to know! I have seek counsel (not therapy) here on this board and thread every day!
I hope that your trip is a success!

So do I, brd, so do I. The family IS important to me - it's the thread that connects us to the web of humanity. But, I'm living a life that has it's own priorities - and the old parameters don't necessarily exist. I'm hoping that we can all grow into our new dynamic and celebrate new ways to support and love. Time will tell.
Ah, immediate family. Enough said.
Just spoke to my mother, though. No criticism for tonight, I was happy.

Harris - just to make you feel a little better - my birthday gift to the TinMan was a charming little Lemon Cypress tree. I can't actually plant it until the Spring, so I think we'll decorate it for the house for the holidays. It won't be like Christmas threw up in here (like it usually is) but it will be something!

DG, as usual I enjoy all of your words! I am off to night night!
Shira and Harris, hello and good night!
Good night, brd!
I just finished the second season of "Entourage". I'm now attempting to figure out life and insurance forms.

"I'm now attempting to figure out life and insurance forms."
Should that be interpreted literally, or as what I think you're trying to say?
I think I hear my cue, at least for insurance forms . . .
Evening all.

Hi, YWIW - I glad your little jock heart is happy. I've been on a high since the weekend with my tennis god, so I understand
Well, off to bed soon for me - I have a relatively early meeting tomorrow. One last Happy Birthday for the Tin Man. Then tomorrow night, attack of the Candied Yams!
