Did you see my mention "Captain Oblivious" anywhere in there? No. I was talking to one person in particular. Thanks for playing, though!

Wait - this has gotten all confusing. I think it is time for a new thread, I'm not coming back here, it seems people are yelling just to hear their own voices. No one was pointing a finger at you, obvious, Jersey_girl was being smug. That's all. Not all rich kids are bad. Not all poor people lack self respect. Ta daaaaaaa!

I was always partial to John and Olivia Walton.

They were good, except they forced their kids to live with those lunatic grandparents. The grandfather was half gone and the grandmother was a total b*tch.

Yeah, grandma Walton did have a mean streak, didn't she? And I got tired of grandpa always wearing those same overalls. I always thought Ben was a hottie.

Michael Lerned played the mother in a TV adaptation of All My Sons and was perfection.

DGrant did you happen to see Richard Thomas in The Stendhal Syndrome? I'll never forget his performance.
My vote for the most realistic family sitcom goes to Roseanne.
This family really communicated with each other. The last season and the series finale, however, sucked.

Thirdrow, I thought Roseanne's series finale was one of the best final episodes of all time. (Of course nothing can compete with Dallas or Newhart). Those last 10 minutes were nothing short of brilliant and a very fitting end for the show.

Very much so. It brought the show back to reality after a very long absence. Roseanne wrote that monologue at the end of the show and it was devistating. It made you go back and analyze the past 9 years and that's something no other show had done before.
