who doesn't? If anyone says they don't have at least one relative, friend etc that is gay then they are either living in a family where the gay family member does not feel comfortable coming out to his or her relatives or they are living in denial.
That's part of the problem with the right wing hard and fast wackos who think that gays are a strange sub culture of people from another planet. They refuse to acknowledge or even try to see that this is part of our society and our life and that gay people are as common as baby boomers, asians, or catholics.
I, for one, have several cousins who are gay, lots of friends who are gay and neighbors and co-workers who are gay...don't we all?

My uncle is very openly gay...my sister is just coming out this past year, and then my best friend is gay. We have speculations about one of my other friends being a lesbian, too.

My brother is gay.
My grandmother was a lesbian.
My only first cousin is gay.
My godfather is gay. (I know it isn't blood but I thought I would throw that one in)
Those that say it isn't genetic are full of it.

There have been studies that suggest that it could be genetic or at least something someone is born with. I am guessing it hasn't been proven to be certain.
But, I think most any gay person can tell you it's all they ever knew. My earliest memories of being gay go back to age 4 or 5. My first crush was on John Schneider on Dukes of Hazzard--I was 5. I was in denial of all this until age 16.

What bothers me is that my Rabbi is in her early 50's and single. People often comment that she is a lesbian because she has short hair, and gay and lesbian friends. I also have short hair and gay and lesbian friends. I am straight. Grow up people!

My bestest, dearest, drunk, irish, sparkly fairy boy is sadly not related to me. Mattie has no blood ties to me, but he's my brother from another mother and I'm his sister from another mister...does that count?
Also, four of the five girls I consider my best friends are bi, like me.

SamIAm, contrary to your belief that we all know tons of gay people, I know one person at work that is openly out and one that because of his position in the company is not out. I'm sure there are more, but I don't know everyone, as I work for a large corporation. An ex friend of mine is a lesbian, and rather than come out to us, she chose to end all her friendships at the time. My friend's son is gay, and out of all the other friends I have, the only ones that are gay are friends I have met through BWW.

It's sooooo annoying. My brother is soooo straight it's not even funny. The only gay people I've knew growing up was myself, my tour guide in Paris, and my mom's friend.

Ah what the hay, I'll share it with the group. I don't share much very often, so here we go:
Basically, my mother worked out that my sister was a lesbian and one night decided to follow her when she went out. To a gay bar with her girlfriend. So my sister is sat at the bar drinking when her girlfriend says "I don't want to alarm you but your mum's in the doorway and she's crying". So my sister goes over and they go outside where they proceed to have a blazing showdown IN THE STREET and my mother gets in her car to drive away, my sister tries to stop her and my mother slams the car door on my sister's leg. There then followed weeks of fighting and crying from my mother and sister while I was on the outside looking in thinking "imagine the fun they'll have when they find out I'm a homo too."
