I agree with Ben Franklin. Hooray!
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."

Thanks MyNameInLights...I think any woman that can raise 4 children on her own and not go on welfare should be applauded. Besides the LOVE she gave to all of us. I try my best to be like her everyday. re: Who is your greatest American?

Anyone who is that strong is truly a great American. And if you don't mind my saying you're not such a bad person yourself.

I have love for James Madison.

John Marshall was great, as well.
Oh and Alexander Hamilton... I think he would have done even more incredible things had he not died so early.

Benjamin Franklin because he was one of the Framers that was visionary to the point of almost being prophetic. His writings in regard to the separation of church & state in the affairs of individuals and the limit of federal powers was brilliant. Honorable mention goes to Martina Navratilova whose brand of tennis at the height of her powers was both revolutionary & extraordinary.

I think mine would be the indigenous people that helped the first European settelers make it through the first winters
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien
