I live in north nj. i was just in the city like 30ish minutes ago for dinner. it takes like 20+ minutes, depending on traffic to get to the city. i hate nj, it's such a bore... at least for me, a 16 year old female, who moved here from southern cali 2 1/2 years ago, after living in israel, cali, boston, then cali... and now here. I LOVE NYC and hope to be living there in a year... for college.

I live in a town that consists of 2 square miles. Our main attraction is an A&P. These are things with which I cannot deal.

hah! i've never seen those before. I like the shirst that reads "Jeresy, Only the Strong Survive" with an outline of the state.

Its also amusing when people think everyones life in NJ is exactly like The Sopranos. I know mine is. Anyone else? :)

I'm also close to the city. That's the saving grace. And while I'm not fond of my specific town, Bergen is one of the better counties in NJ.

Yeah, there isnt an enourmous amount of things to do in my town, but the city is a 20 min train ride away and six flags is about an hour and you have the shore and you have AC if you like gambling.

I've lived in central Jersey my entire life and feel as I have the best of all worlds. I can be in the city in 40-45 minutes or down the shore in the same; to the Poconos in a little over an hour if I want mountains. I can take a drive in the country or walk around beautiful towns like Princeton. I love it here and don't plan on leaving. I would keep a small apartment in the city, however, if I won the lottery so I wouldn't have to schlep home after an evening show. I have splurged on a hotel room a couple of times so I could do just that. It is nice to wake up in the city, but, all in all, I like being across the river where I can always enjoy the view.

I live in northwestern NJ. Out here you know why it's called the "Garden State." I can hop on a bus and be in NYC in about one hour. Can't beat country livin'.

Anyone ever get the "you know you live in NJ if..." e-mails? They crack me up. These are the ones i remember off the top of my head...

...You know how to successfully navigate a circle.

...You know what a circle is.

...You have 3 malls within 20 minutes of you.

...You have gotten on the wrong highway coming home from the mall.

...You know that the real name is 6 Flags not Great Adventure

...You "The Oranges" isnt referring to the food.

Ill have to think of the rest. Now it will be bothering me.

There are about 62 towns in Bergen County that can be described as "2 square miles, main attraction is a superstore." It's cute.

I was born in the suburbs of Tel Aviv and have lived in the suburbs of NYC. Right now I go to school in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Of the 3, I like NJ the best. Why? Well, not having much terrorism is a good start, and the fact that NYC is cooler than Philly seals the deal. :)
