The new show on ABC. Anyone watched.

Loved the first episode and following the killer's tweets are very funny.

Any ideas....gut tells me it's Don, the ex-cop.

I watched and I'm sorry to say that I hated it and won't watch again.

It seemed so staged and forced- plus I didn't care for any of the contestants. They felt more like actors than actual reality contestants.

Why were they so afraid they were going to "die" or keep saying, "I hope I'm not the next one to be killed?" They did realize that they weren't ACTUALLY going to die, right? The first contestant wasn't actually killed? The body in the morgue was ALIVE?

And after each person is "killed" they are forced to get into make up and be in the morgue for everyone to poke and prod?

I like the idea of a murder mystery reality show, but think the contestants shouldn't be part of the deaths. It should be the maids/butler/hosts/guests (all actors) who should be killed off each week as they try to mingle with the actors and gain info from them to figure out what is going on.

Each actor would be told a little more info they could divulge each week until only the top three remained.

The execution of this show was just so sloppy!

Because if they die, they don't have a chance to win the $250,000.

I liked it.

Whizzer.....did you watch The Mole....this is being produced by the same folks.......it's very molish.......

There was a clue at the beginning of the episode as to the identity of the killer. During the champagne party in the foyer.

I didn't watch The Mole, but have heard of it.

I got that if they died/were eliminated they didn't get they money, but they were acting like they were actually fearing death and not just elimination from a game.

I hated it too. I really thought the mystery would be solved in each episode and the winner would compete in a finale.

From the people they picked, I wanted them all to die 5 minutes into it.

They are awful at it and I didn't think the concept worked at all. Everything looked so staged.

This sounds awful.

Besides being CLUE on TV, what else is there?

I do love me that mystery dinner episode of Golden Girls, though.

I loved the quote from the Variety review:

Frankly, if you’re going to waste time on something this silly, why not put it to more community-minded use and support your local dinner theater?

Pammy, I like you, but you're driving a hard bargin! :)

The contestants all acted like they didn't know what kind of game they were going to be playing, but didn't they have to be informed that when they were eliminated they would potentially have to act out a murder scene and then play a dead corpse in the morgue?

I wondered how many times they had to reshoot because the victim burst into laughter while flopping around in front of the fish tank or being felt up at the morgue. If she wasn't a professional actor and just an ordinary person I bet some of those scene would be hard to pull off.

I know that obviously it was stunt double for Donte in the pool, but he still have to be in the morgue next episode! I don't know...I like my reality shows with contestants who acknowledge they are competing on a game and are aware of the manipulations of the producers, etc. (Survivor, Big Brother, Amazing Race)

I liked it also. Yeah, it was cheesy as hell and over the top, but that's the fun of a summer show.

I was wondering about the victims having to play dead in the morgue also - that seems a little strange.

I'm also thinking Don is the killer. He's an ex-cop - he would know how to make that fairly difficult shot with the slingshot into Sherri's neck. Also, wasn't he the last one out before Dontae came out on fire?

But of course Don didn't actually have to make that shot with the slingshot, so anyone of them could have done that. Don was the last one out, but that's just because the producers were trying to keep us in suspense because Don and Dontae were the two "scared" cards. Making Don come out last was one of the see-through manipulations that were too obvious for me.

Murder in Small Town X was more effective.

Whizzer - you may be right. I don't know if it's that cynical. I mean, should we believe the killer actually took the shot or not? I think that could have an impact. Don coming out late COULD be producer manipulation for the sake of suspense - or he could have been the one to do the crime.

The one who confuses me is Adrienne (Is that her name? - the TV reporter). She's acting strangely, but why would a contestant act that way? It's almost TOO bizarre.

Meh - look at it this way, it's only once a week when nothing else is on anyway, and Big Brother starts in a couple days :)

jason, As I understood it, we aren't to believe that the killer took the shot. I mean the contestant who "died" didn't actually die (or get hit in the back of the neck with a musket pellet). I assume when she was chosen as the first to die the producers helped her set the scene of her "death" and then she had to shoot some B footage her getting the shower, seeing the message in the mirror, etc.

I assume once it is chosen who the next victim will be that person is notified by the producers that they are eliminated and they will have to perform the next death scene and act as a body in the morgue. Plus all the other contestants must act as if they are witnessing ACTUAL murders and not staged events. This is what makes me believe that they are all actors and not "real" people. That's an awful lot of acting to demand of the cast.

Adriana is not acting like the rest of them- in fact she is the only one IMO who is not acting like an actor.

Can't wait for BB!!!

That's how I feel - I haven't been able to stop thinking about it, so I know I'll watch again.

Plus, Giles is the most over the top ridiculous character since Zingbot 2000. Zinggggggg!

It was harder to handle this week than last! I did like seeing Dontae at the end with all his murder makeup on saying he wished he hadn't been eliminated so quickly.

The worst line of the night was when Giles revealed his ankle bracelet and one of them said, "Damn, things just got REAL!" I was like, "What?! No they didn't!"

I want to know how they found these contestants. They are asked to act a lot more than most reality contestants. I wonder what really happens to them when they are killed. Do they producers come to their room and tell them they're eliminated and that they must act out a death scene for the cameras?

The hardest task must be the morgue. I mean you could see Dontae breathing last night! And everyone has to pretend they're touching a dead body when they can obviously tell they're touching a live one. I wonder why the just don't use a dummy. If I was on the table I'm afraid I would start laughing everytime someone touched me.
