etoile, that may be a valid matter of opinion, but I don't think that justifies these fierce reactions. You obviously have a point of view and that's fine. But noone in this thread has to verbally kill another one. After all we're human beings, aren't we? There is a difference between disagreeing and going on a crusade.
Edit: I agree, Cheeze, that it would have been far better if she'd just talked to him as he was concerned in the first place. But that is no reason to run amok now...

Franklin - we have not YET begun to crusade. lol.
Look, if you all think the thread is so terribly useless, why do you bother to post and not just ignore it?
I'm not trying to be rude to anyone, honestly, but I know you all hate me enough anyone so it doesn't much matter. In any case, if you don't like it, don't post on it. It's not a difficult concept to understand. Even a child such as myself can comprehend that.

I still like Sweet Q.
However, I didn't care for this comment from a certain "Student, soon-to-be waittress" (not my spelling error)....
"I'm shocked to find out that you all are such overanalytical, cold-hearted assholes. But I'm not surprised. Not at all."
I don't think I am a cold-hearted asshole. Asshole maybe, but never cold-hearted.

Yet you're posting on it.

Cheeze, I'm glad you are starting to look at it from a humorous angle

You think this is fierce? Wow, just wow! You think this is verbal killing?
Geek, when homophobia, no matter how veiled bares it's ugly head it is a little difficult to ignore.
Oh, and doodle, forgive me. I just thought using different words that basically mean the same thing might help clarify things.

I think I always have Franklin - but I have let my frustrations from other pointless threads lately boil over here.
At least I originally tried to stay on-topic with the thread.

I may have exaggerated my words a little to make my point clearer, etoile. Nonetheless, I'm sure you'll agree the way everyone talks in this thread is not a decently mannered one, is it?
Edit: very well, Cheeze

I think other than Geek's name calling that everyone has been mild in their responses.

I'm a gay cousin to a lot of people. And if I had to pick a cousin to come out to, it wouldn't be to the sensitive gal who walked away when a neighbor had the unmitigated gall to say "Hola" to me instead of, like, "Hi or whatever" in American. And proudly told that story.
I'd be telling people who would be neither surprised NOR shocked. Nor would I tell it to somebody who would do her level best to make my story be about her.
Also, it's literally impossible to "verbally kill" someone.
Why do you two have the same Av with different colors?
::is confused::
It irks me no end when someone starts a thread about something and then gets pissed off when the replies are other than anticipated or desired. And really, posting a "WoW...my cousin is gay...how am I going to DEAL with this, even though I love gay guys more than anyone..." on a message board where a significant portion of the posters are gay... What? You didn't think there'd be a backlash?
If you can't take the heat, don't start the thread.
Namo, you kill me.
Aspiringactress, I'm the one in both pictures with the original picture. Sueleen took the picture and made the dress pink because I mentiond how I dislike pink.
Sorry, double post.

i was glad when my cousin came out; it took the pressure off me.
we have a lesbian aunt, so both have had it easier than a lot of people.

But, Iflit, she made this preemptive statement, to somehow ward off responses other than those she wanted to hear: "I can just see the attacks coming but I just feel the need to start this thread..."
Now, her cousin's therapist would probably say that doing something that you say will bring "attacks" on you and then claiming you didn't want them is "counter-intuitive."
What do you think, Namo? Borderline?

As the Magic 8 Ball would say: NOT CLEAR AT THIS TIME
Surprisingly, I was verbally killed once, and it shocked me.
But were you surprised?
