There was a thread sort-of dedicated to this a little while ago, but it got kind of incoherent, so I thought I'd start fresh...
Worst Movie Performance of All Time? This is INCREDIBLY tough and thoroughly subjective...for me it comes down to two.
Sally Elise, DEMENTED--"I thought you LIIIIKED MEEEEAT!"
Desiree Gould, SLEEPAWAY CAMP--"Well, that's all water under the bridge as I always say. Water UUUUnder the bridge!"
Steven Boyd - so great in Ben Hur - horrible in The Oscar
Close 2 nd - in the same movie - Tony Bennett in his 1 st & last movie role.

I'm gonna say it.
Idina Menzel in anything on film.
ouch!
she was painful to watch in RENT and even worse in Enchanted.
She's just a bit much. and over the top.
And I"m going to say this-John Travolta in Hairspray. I was so disgusted that I left after about 15 minutes.
Michael Beck as Sonny Malone in Xanadu. Love the movie for all its campiness, but... wow.
Samantha Mathis in Broken Arrow.
But DAMN that's a fine film. Haha.
Let's just put it this way...some people should NEVER act.
Lesse...
Jessica Simpson
the entire cast of Degrassi (but that's TV..sorry)
Paris Hilton
Justin Timberlake (yes I said it!)
...I'm sure there are more that I just can't think of.
Keanu Reeves in a Walk in the Clouds. Painful!!!
I love Keanu. He's always bad in new and exciting ways. It's never ONE type of bad. It's always FRESH.

that's true. Keanu proves there so many ways you can do bad.
dracula, the river house, matrix,.....ouch.
and i agree..John travolta was the worst thing in Hairspray.
That TEAM really had to stay strong and positive about casting him to make some extra bucks and look like they loved him being in it...but I'm sure they were kicking themselves about that decision.
Travolta , who should be comfortable playing a woman,..as we all are aware of his trysts.....completely ruined Edna.
Even people who don;t know the film well..mention that Harvey should've just done it. period.
:)
Taboo-what I don't understand is how Hairspray is showing up on best films of the year lists! I rarely walk out of a film. This was easy though-it was at a friend's screening room.
And I must admit I enjoyed Keanu in The Devil's Advocate. He was good, in a bad way, if you get my drift.
Keanu is at the point now where he's endearingly bad.
When you're that hot and have so many people lusting after you, it's ok. He gets a pass.
I hated HAIRSPRAY!
Nic cage in every movie of the last 15 years
I thought he was really good in Matchstick Men.
Ben Affleck in Daredevil, GiGi, whatever
Richard Gere in Chicago
Although I hate to say it too, I have to agree with Michael Beck in Xanadu...

OH WOW.
im agreeing with everyone here today.
Hairspray is a great film and was treated wonderfully.
but Travolta was the weakest link and horribly portrayed a Baltimorian woman..with that heinous accent that was not even remotely funny..just annoying..and of course...
one noted- Queen Latifah..who has a great pr team or agency because I still don't understand how an expressionless tub of lard can get any work. She is totally overrated. Extremely.
and nic cage is a loser.

wow.....have you seen "Set It Off"?
I may be the minority with this one, but I loved Queen Latifah in the film, "Living Out Loud" with Holly Hunter.

I forgot Liv Tyler in JERSEY GIRL (well, in anything, but it takes a special kind of non-talent to make Ben Affleck look dynamic...)
Jennifer Lopez in everything except Selena
edited for typos
"ennifer Lopez in everything except Selina"
I am in such agreement! She bowled me over in Selena. She WAS Selena. I LOVED her in that. I still watch the darn thing whenever it's on tv. Since then, I haven't seen a shred of that same talent.
