LACE had one of the best lines ever uttered in a TVM:
"Which one of you bitches is my mother?"
GASP! Thanks B12B.
I would also love to see the 1960's SNOOPY and YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN cartoon specials on dvd. I love those!
My bad---our sytem at work had Batman listed (3 seasons) but when I went to the WHV site, it said ANIMATED. Thanks---I'm fixing the catalog now...
2 classic Kate titles:
The Madwoman Of Chaillot
and unbelievably,
The African Queen

Oh and Mandingo. I forgot I only have a bootleg.

The Legend of Billie Jean
Electric Dreams
Oh you reminded me: The Electric Grandmother.
A very close friend of mine wrote that with Ray Bradbury.
Trahy drive in movies like:
The Food Of The Gods and The Swarm.
Good times!
Food of the Gods and The Swarm would make a good double feature.
I am also surprised that The African Queen isn't out on dvd. It needs a nice Special Edition format.
I want Lost Horizon (1973)and At Long Last Love (1975).
WINGS
THE LAST EMPEROR
LOVE WITH THE PROPER STRANGER - Natalie Wood & Steve McQueen
Scenes From Class Struggle in Beverly Hills
Lord, I love that movie!
Tammy & the Bachelor
Tammy Tell Me True
Tammy & the Doctor
China Beach: Season 1
House of the Spirits
Rags to Riches
I thought The Last Emperor just had a special edition released.
edit-just checked, you're right. Unavailable.
wow katy you sure love you some Tammy, don't you?
2 early Joan Collins films: THE WAYWARD BUS and THE OPPOSITE SEX.
I totally do love me some Tammy movies. When I was in high school, a friend had videos that she had taped from television and a group of us would get together and eat pizza and watch them all in one sitting.
I have The Last Emperor on DVD. I didn't realize it went out of print.
It was a special edition "director's cut" with one hour (!) of extra footage. It's wide screen, but not 16x9 "enhanced" (anamorphic). I'm so used to the longer cut now that I can't even remember the original release version. It's excellent, even clocking in at 218 minutes.
It's due for a re-release on DVD and a "gussied up" version. Other than the 1 hour expansion, there were trailers on it, cast bios, and that's it.
EDIT: Apparently you can buy a used copy on Amazon for around $32, but everyone seems to be bitching that the picture & sound quality are lousy. I remember being disappointed that it wasn't "perfection," but I don't remember it being that terrible. I'll have to pop my disc in one of these days and have a look again. It was released 8 years ago, and the "quality standards" have come up quite a bit along with the remastering technology. I'm afraid to play it now... because I might hate it!
Not on topic, so forgive me, but..
Auntie Mame deserves a double disc and/or special edition of some kind.
The film made WB **** loads of money.
I second a Deluxe Special Edition release for AUNTIE MAME. One of my all time laugh out loud/pee-in-your-pants favorite comedies of all time.
I'm actually watching that tonight. LOL.
Dark_Angel---Maybe the deluxe edition could come with some Depends!
I love this movie too... but I'm not sure what would flesh out a 2-disc set. Most of the cast has passed away, but it would be a coup to get the young Patrick Dennis (Jan Handzlik) to do a commentary and a behind-the-scenes doc. He's quite the star lawyer here in L.A., specializing in "white collar" crimes. They could also get Joanna Barnes (I can't TELL you how GHASTLY that would be) and possibly Pippa Scott, if she's willing. I'm not sure how Roger Smith's health is these days, but he was pretty ill in year's past.
The rest are gone now.
I still don't see this filling out 2 discs though... unless they added games! Maybe they could make an interactive game out of Acacius Page's school! Something to show how fish mate. Or have cocktail recipes pop up for each of Mame's many decorating themes!
Probably not... but maybe we'll get a nice hi def transfer in the near future. That would be nice, but it would depend on the condition of the source elements.
I'd love to see the scene with Mame selling cookware. If it still exists.
At least have an audio commentary by some film historian and or flaming queens.
There is such love for the movie and so much interesting backstory that filling up a doc wouldn't be too hard.
I can dream.
Maybe I can come over and watch it with you mejusthavinfun?
