Zodiac

Anyone else here excited to see it? I've been hearing some really fantastic things about it.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Wha'ts this one about? Who's in it? I know i've seen something for it, can't remember though...
"I can't figure out what kind of life this is, comedy or tragedy, I just know it's showbiz. And what if I don't agree with the lines I have to read? They don't pay me enough, the way I see it."

re: Zodiac

I remember seeing something on A&E years ago about the Zodiac killer, and thinking that it would make a great movie. I do know that this film has had extensive re-shoots, which could mean bad news. However, I'll probably still go see it.

Variety loved it:

"Conveying an astonishing array of information across a long narrative arc while still maintaining dramatic rhythm and tension, this adaptation of Robert Graysmith's bestseller reps by far director David Fincher's most mature and accomplished work."

re: Zodiac

I watched the 2005 version with Justin Chambers in it the other day. After watching a Forensic Files on it in school it interested me, so I ordered it on-demand. My sister and I loved the movie and are excited for this one. According to her, this new one has about an $85 million dollar budget compared to the $1 million the 2005 version had. Ending was creepy! I can't wait to see it!!!

re: Zodiac

I will see anything featuring Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Ruffalo.

re: Zodiac

I saw just the justin Chambers Zodiac and found it slow but compelling. I am looking forward to this new one but I wonder what will they add...besides the 84 million that is. re: Zodiac oh yes, and Jake!

My uncle's best friend is one of the characters in the movie

re: Zodiac

I'm going to see this, just for Muffalo. Finally, a non romantic comedy lead for him. Yay.

Naw, that just means David Fincher is either too picky or a perfectionist. I doubt he's both. re: Zodiac He is a very good director though.

I can't wait to see it b/c it looks like a really good film.

re: Zodiac

It has a 100% rating right now on RottenTomatoes, granted there are only 5 reviews posted right now...

re: Zodiac

Oh, I have faith. Fincher certainly knows how to tell an entertaining story.

re: Zodiac

I'm not particularly looking forward to it. Fincher's work has never impressed me in the past, both SEVEN and FIGHT CLUB are pretty useless little exercises in style over substance, tiresome and predictable. I really just couldn't care less.

re: Zodiac

I haven't totally loved anything he's ever done, but I think he's definitely a fascinating director. It seems like there's a lot of depth to this film judging by the reviews. I've heard people compare it to some of Alan J. Pakula's work. People expecting a serial killer movie along the lines of Se7en will probably be disappointed.

I agree with you about Fight Club, but Se7en? Useless? It's already a classic.

re: Zodiac

It's directed by Fincher who did "Seven" and "The Game" so I have no doubt it will be fantastic - and on top of that it has Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey Jr (drool!)

I will see any movie with Jake Gyllenhaal. He is my one true love. I hope he's at the Oscars tonight.

re: Zodiac

i am so excited for this movie! I think with Jake, David and Mark it would be almost impossible to go wrong and the story seems very fascinating

re: Zodiac

I can't wait for this movie. I'm also hopelessly in love with Jake Gyllenhaal.

I actually watched Se7en last night, and forgot how truly compelling I find it to be. I don't doubt this'll be the same way!

Oh, it's ON. Then again, couldn't we just convince him to become Mormon?

What can I say, I'm a pacifist.

re: Zodiac

Haha...that could work.

re: Zodiac

Between Fincher directing, and the leading men (especially Jake Gyllenhaal) in the film, I am more than a little excited about this. I haven't had some Jakey G in awhile either.
