My school did You Can't Take It With you this past year and it was fabulous. We did Tom Jones last year- old fashioned comedy, but lovely. Two years ago we did two straight plays, Twelve Angry Men and The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man In The Moon Marigolds. Marigolds was absolutely amazing, but with a cast of only five women, it's hard to do in a high school.
some plays my schools done:
Arsenic and Old Lace
Museum
12th Night
Midsummers night dream
The Dining Roon
The Crucible
Bighton Beach Memiors
Our Town

I second The Boys Next Door... awesome play, and my favorite that I've done in high school.

Thank you so much for everyone's help. You guys are too cool.
youre most welcome
The thing crappy about these is they have small casts, not ways to build up a department. Anywho, my high school has done great performances of the Foreigner and Musical Comedy Murders of 1940.

My two favorites have already been listed; I shall list them again!
"Noises Off"
My school actually did this, and I played one of my dream roles, Dotty Otley.
"The Crucible"
I'd die to play Abigail. . .
The Best Christmas Pagaent Ever
...no that's the name of the show.
We're not conceited.

My School did "Murder by Indecision," which came out great. You just need to have a theater with really great lighting.

I saw a fantastic production of Tom Dudzick's Over The Tavern at the Illinois High School Theatre Festival. It became one of my favorites.

We just closed The Crucible at Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners...a Christian school. It was VERY well received. We did not edit anything.
