Who's dressing up as something broadway related for halloween?

"Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"

I'm tempted to do Sally Bowles, but I am convinced that at the parties I'm at people will be like who are you?
I'm really feeling Dorothy from the Wiz of Oz right now...

it's not technically 'broadway' but it is from a musical...
I'm being a Newsie. :)

O-M-G... a Newsie TOTALLY counts!
that is by far the BEST costume idea EVER!
i think I may just have to steal that one from you... dont worry, i'll give you props. hahahah
for Senior Year my friends and I were going to dress up as Disney Princesses (they sing songs, so they're musical, right?) well... I was gonna be Belle -b/c I'm obsessed and its Broadway (overdone, but whatevs) and my friend was going to be the Beast... haha. we'll see about that
the Newsies idea... damn good.
fyi- that's my favorite movie, hands down. i'm utterly obsessed.

Posted: 10/11/06 at 10:32pmThe best part is people wondering who you are... well for me anyways. I was also considering Sally Bowles but I've decided to go a Millie Dillmount a la Toroughly Modern Millie

a big group of my friends and i are dressing up as Les miz characters in honor of the new revival, and i'm being Eponine. i think i got the easiest one lol. yeah i know, call us dorks.
but i think the coolest costume to attempt would probably be anything from Brooklyn. my friend was Faith last year, and i was gonna attempt to do Brooklyn in the Once Upon a Time scene (SO much easier than Brooklyn in the Blood lol) but i couldn't get all the pieces.
if Les Miz doens't work out though, i might have to steal that Newsies idea as well... but same deal i'll totally give you all the credit :)

Posted: 10/12/06 at 12:34amOh Man, I wish my friends had atleast an inklink of anything to do with musical theatre... they're all into hip-hop, metal, and all the other main stream stuff. I would LOVE it if they would even consider dressing up as the cast of something... anything

This is when I hate that I just started college, don't have a ton of friends ( because my friends are dispersed all over my state and so on) therefore leaving me with no reason to dress up. SADness. I yearn to be Mimi from Rent or Queen Cleopatra or a Gypsy, but no.
Gr-ness.

Definitely going as someone from Rocky Horror... because A) I'm closing that show this weekend and B) I'm going to the movie that night.
Hooray.

Posted: 10/12/06 at 12:31pmI'm going to be a hairspray counsil member. I'm buying this really funny giant beehive wig and wearing one of my vintage dresses and my "I heart Link" pin. Oh and my friend is being Angel from RENT.

My guy friends are going to be The 4 Seasons.
Another of my groups of friends and I are going to be the spellers from The Spelling Bee. I'm Marcy.

Posted: 10/14/06 at 9:50pmI've decided to be Millie Dillmount for Halloween this year, and if that doesn't work out it's a masquarde character from phantom and if that doesn't work out then it's Eponine.

Going as Lynette Fromme. She was a character in Assassins. That counts, right?

Posted: 10/15/06 at 11:36amwell last year i was most definitly Mark Cohen from Rent. So i dont want to be anything from Rent because last year everyone thought that i was Harry Potter. i was not pleased. So i was thinking this year to go as either Sweeney Todd but again no one would no who it was. or quite possibly one of the spellers from Spelling Bee

My boyfriend and I are being Ron Burgandy and Veronica Corningstone from Anchorman. Not that is has anything to do with Broadway. But! An idea!
Someone's group of friends could be the brothers from Joseph and the Amazing...and Joseph himself. That'd be hilarious.

I'm going as a Kit Kit girl from Cabaret. It really ticks me off when I mention "Kit Kat girl" and people go "Ohh like the candy?" Yes, you idiot, I'm dressing up like a big Kit Kat bar. Whoopdee friggin doo.
Seriously speaking, I am going as Fritzie Kost(one of the Kit Kat girls). I have the red hair and the accordion so I figured - why not? A few years ago, I went as Velma Kelley so I have to go back to the Kander & Ebb theme. I'm going to try and recruit some of my guy friends to be some Kit Kat boys and luckily I know a few who will probably help out.
