I've separated my favorite experiences by musical, play, and tech, so here we go:

Musical:

West Side Story - Doc
(we changed the name to "Mrs. B" but for all intents and purposes, it was the same character)

Play:

The General of Hot Desire - God
(I won an award for this role, and so it is my favorite)

Tech:

Cabaret - deck crew
(My biggest responsibilities were running out and bringing a chair offstage, dressing Bobby in his train station jacket and hat (and our Bobby was soo cute so I chose to help him! ;D), giving two chairs to Lulu and placing an apple under Bobby's seat. I did a bunch of other stuff too. re: favorite musical uve ever been in...)

If that is why it's your favorite that's not right.

There's nothing wrong with it...if she won an award, then that means she did well in the role, connected to it, and can look back on it with a sense of achievement. Psssh, if I ever won an award for a role, it'd be my favorite, too.

""The General of Hot Desire - God

It is a favorite because I took over for someone (who dropped out less than a month before we were to go to competition) and at the time, I was already rehearsing for WSS. Everyone was very glad that I was part of the cast and I didn't even to except to win an award for it. I'm sorry if "that's not right" in your eyes, but to me, I am very happy that I was able to not only help out the cast but be recognized for my hard work. I'm sure any actor will tell you there is no better feeling on earth when you are finally appreciated for your hard work - award or not. It can be as simple as "You made me cry" or "What a beautiful voice you have" - either way, it is probably the best feeling to know that somehow you impacted someone.

It is also my favorite because it is one of the most difficult roles I had to tackle and with less than a month to rehearse, I was very concerned that I wasn't going to do a good job. Luckily, I had a marvelous support group and my director believed in me.

My favorite role is probably Madame de la Grande Bouche in Beauty and the Beast.

But, I have a feeling that the show I'm in rehearsals for now is going to be my favorite/the best thing I've ever done in my life: a concert version of Carousel starring Rebecca Luker(!!!).

I'll go ahead and explain each [T] = tech, [P] = play.

--High School--
[T] = The Laramie Project
[T] = How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying
[T] = Bat Boy The Musical
[P] = A Midsummer Night's Dream (Starveling/Moonshine)
- also did tech work for this show.
[T] = Suddenly Last Summer
[T] = Seussical The Musical
[T] = Ruthless! (One-Act Competition)
- won State. :o)
[T] = High School Musical

--College--
[T] = The Tempest (A really chopped up, dance version)
[T] = Anything Goes
[T] = Tartuffe

* One of my favorite plays to be a part of was Ruthless, but not only because we won state, but it really developed a sense of family for me within our cast and crew, and I loved that. And, Bat Boy is another good one, but I didn't do much for that show.

I've never seen any of the shows that I worked on my senior year, (which includes Seussical and Suddenly Last Summer and AMND) so I can't include them in my favorites. Plus, Seussical was just hell, I had to draw so many Seuss characters. But, it got me brownie points, and lots of them. :o)

My favourite was definitely 'Pirates Of Penzance'. I've done it twice now, once in my favourite theatre in the whole world, and I had SUCH fun both times. Wish I'd been a pirate first time round though; didn't get any choice and had to be female this last time. re: favorite musical uve ever been in...

My favorite one would have to be West Side Story. That was so much fun.

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

Little Shop as Audrey 2, Into the Wood's as Cindy's Prince and Beauty and the Beast as Lead Villager (basically I was a freshman with a really good audition who doesn't resemble any of the characters at all so they gave me all of the villager's lines). In "Little Shop" I came out for curtain call and no one believed I was the voice because I'm just a skinny white boy, which made me feel really good! Cindy's Prince was my first lead role in a musical that actually is well known because I was in 6th grade, and prior to that I had never done any musicals that have been on Broadway (you know, the really lame musicals for elementary schools). "Beauty" was just pure fun, and it was one of my first experiences of being in the ensemble.

My two favorite shows/roles:

Once Upon a Mattress: Jester
Seussical : the Cat.

(I seem so high school-y saying those but it's so true. Both are such exuberant, fun roles.)
