i know i am gonna be goin thru the same thing with Ivy in a couple of months.
i am going back home in october so that i can see her one last time.
she has been the queen of our family, the matriarch, for so long.
she is in charge of everything; i dont know how our family is gonna get along without her.

she's still in pretty good health for her age (she's 13) but i know that when it comes, its so sudden. im cryin now @ my desk just thinkin about it.

Abba, you and your family are very brave, as is Molly. I once read that, like people, our pets often will hold on for those who love them. It sounds like she might be doing the same thing. Be sure to let her know that it is okay to let go.

i told her that she wont hurt anymore and that she can run around again with max and murry and cinder and all the other neighborhood dogs.
aside from molly, there's only one dog left from that little group of dogs from when i was little, and he's getting up there in age.

i just hope she understands that we're doing this out of love and not beacuse we dont want her anymore.

when my grandfther passed away in march, his nurse told me he was with the angels now. it was nice to picture him with angels.
somehow, the thought that molly will be taken care of by angels is comforting to me.

Oh, Abba, I think she knows. Your love for her is so obvious to all of us who have never met you or her. Surely it is very clear to her. Our pets know so much more than we can even imagine.

Abba - I'm so sorry you are going through this. She's a beautiful dog, and I can tell from the pictures that she lived a full, happy life and had a true friend in you.

I know it's hard, but it's better for her. Hang in there, and know we're thinking about you.

i just said good bye.

i feel like there is a knife in my heart.

i gave her treats all day, and made chicken for her... i got her to drink a bowl of water.
i took her on one last walk, even though it was just through the yard and she kept stumbling.

about half way through the day, her breathing changed almost like it was hard to breathe.
i think she knew it was time.

i'm just so sad.

my dad just called.

she's gone.

it was very peaceful.

he said they gave her medicine to relax her and she fell asleep. then they put her out and that was it. my dad was holding her head and petting her.

i also found out that mutley, the last remaining "neighborhood dog" from when everyone was little is going to the same vet tomarrow and quite possibly may be put to sleep as well.

I know it's really hard, but try to picture Molly young and strong again, and not in any pain anymore. At least your dad was there with her when it happened. She knew how much she was loved. *hugs*

s'long, molly. we're all happy that we got to meet you, however briefly, and share through photos some of the joy that you brought abba. she's a good egg and we'll try in your absence to keep her out of trouble, but she is a moshpit mama so we've got our work cut out for us. rest now, grrl.

Abba, I am so sorry for your loss. *hugs* I wish there was something I could do to help you through this. Just picture Molly no longer in pain and able to play and do all of her favorite things again. It sounds like you gave her one last perfect day and a wonderful life. RIP Molly

it comes and goes.
i'll feel fine and then someone will say "oh i'm so sorry" and i'll get sad again.

i've basically been keeping myself busy taking care of the other animals... i swicthed two of the rabbit's cages around, i brushed manny, i worked with mack on his new command ("perch!"), i'm planning on cleaning the fish bowl later tonight...
my brother and his friend kind of share a dog named cody who kind of lives here now, so i played with him for a little bit...

molly is now running around with cinder and cappy and murry and max probably thinking "geeze, i haven't seen you guys in years! where have you been?"
and papa, molly was quite the moshpit mama herself in her younger days. i remember coming down the stairs once to find her jumping around with my mom to "jailhouse rock"
