re: guess what....

What do you mean 'got it'?

You mean you're gonna perform it? If so then that's cool.

We're talking about the Elton John Aida, not Verdi's Aida, right?

Because high schools typically perform operas, Rodney.

"Because high schools typically perform operas, Rodney."

Well, ya never know.

What's really unfortunate is when a high school does a show that it's talent base cannot support.

A year ago or so a high school near where I lived did the watered-down version of Les Miz. Their sets and costumes, even orchestra were great, but alas, Val Jean, Javert, Eponine, and Fantine could not sing...any of them.

I am SO jealous, because AIDA rocks and it would be SO fun to put on!!

That's really awesome though! Congrats, and tell us how it goes!

Assuming you're auditioning? By the way welcome to the boards... don't believe I've seen you around here before re: guess what....
Very excited for you... if you're involved, make sure and tell us how its going
Here in this cold white room tied up to these machines, it's hard to imagine life as it used to be. Laughing, screaming, tumbling queen... Like the most amazing light show you've ever seen. Whirling, swirling, never blue... How could you go and die? What a selfish thing to do... RIP Jason

re: guess what....

That's cool...My old high school is doing Joseph...Dreamcoat this month, with a black Joseph, but it'll be interesting.

I'm sorry, but I'm having a hard time picturing high schoolers singing Elaborate Lives.

re: guess what....

I can't possibly imagine any high school successfully doing this show in every aspect - from talent to sufficient lighting, sound, orchestra, and sets. I've seen high schools attempt Les Mis before. Everyone involved thought it was absolutely amazing. In reality, it was some of the worst talent I've ever seen on a high school stage.

re: guess what....

heh, I'm not the only one, then. I have a hard time accepting the fact that my show is now being done in high schools, but I still wished them the best of luck...... and said to treat it with care. re: guess what....

EL, of course, was choreographed one way for B'way, so of course could be done differently... a little less explicitly. re: guess what....

I'm going to see Aida tomorrow. The real one.

re: guess what....

you mean they reopened Aida at the Palace with Heather, Adam, and Sherie?? *giggles*
#21

re: guess what....

um... no.

I'm seeing the real Aida, by Verdi, not the plagarized one by Disney, at the greastest opera company on this continent, the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

re: guess what....

*ahem*
Plagarized? Adapted, thank you.

I'm not in the mood for this argument.
