Posted: 10/27/06 at 2:26amIt is currently my commuter book. I am on chapter 9. I like both the movie and the book. Book is better plot wise...but come on Meryl. That is all I am gonna say.

Great book.
Great movie, although, I don't agree with the changes. I like her boyfriend (Can't remember his name now) as a teacher, not a line cook.

Yeah, I wanted to see Meryl's face, as Anne's bitching her out, but guess not.
And the Harry Potter manuscript wouldn't be that thin. Unless it was printed on both sides, and I doubt that happened.

Her second book, Everyone Worth Knowing, is good too.

Posted: 10/27/06 at 9:13amNot that I should be criticizing anyone, but I found The Devil Wears Prada to be a very weak debut novel. Let's hope she gets better with age.

I read the book, and having had a couple of bosses like that, I had heart palpitations and nausea.
There was no way you could get me to watch it played out onscreen.

I absolutely loathed the book. Lauren Weissberger should sign up for some Fiction 101 classes at Gotham Writers Workshop.
Loved the movie, though.

The movie is a lot different from the book.
And Meryl Streep is (to quote you) FAB.U.LOUS.
You missed a great performance by her, and Anne too, but Tracie Thoms was vastly miscast and underused. The entire Lily character could've been cut and no one would've known.

Posted: 10/27/06 at 9:18amI've seen the performances in real life. Really, I'll survive much better without the experience.

Luckily I've never had that experience.
EDIT: This is post #2800. WOO!

Posted: 10/27/06 at 9:23amI haven't seen the movie yet because I wanted to read the book first. Only 3 more books on my list until I get to it. I've heard mostly nothing but good reviews of it.
