It's amazing to me that the media is all over this Clinton/Obama division of the Democratic party while the Republican party is in shambles.
If the Democratic divide keeps getting worse, the Republicans will know they won't have to do anything other than keep their mouths shut to get McCain into Office. Who cares if their party is in shambles? The Democrats are polarizing themselves to death.

1. He ditched Hagey. He needed that endorsement. I don't know how it will play out but you don't piss off the Evangelicals. They just wont vote, it's what they do.
2. He lost the Jewish vote in Florida. His echoing of George Bush's statements that Obama is an appeaser drew a line in the sand. Jewish Americans, politicians and the media will not allow our political system to come down to votes for or against our support for Israel. His divisive remarks killed what chance he had no matter how long he drags Lieberman around with him.
Obama has an 8 point lead against McCain. McCain is currently running unopposed and Obama is running against arguably one of the most diehard opponents in presidential history.

Jewish Americans, politicians and the media will not allow our political system to come down to votes for or against our support for Israel.
You can't speak monolithically about "Jewish" voters like that.
The Jewish voters who are part of the "creative classes" do not vote the same way as working-class Jews, elderly Jews or younger "New Orthodox" Jews.

Yes this is true and it is true about every ethnic, racial, sex group in this country.
I'm talking specifically about the Jewish vote in Florida. This is the "Jewish vote" you hear about on television. This is the Jewish vote you need to win to win Florida.

Right, those are my words. My point is and it is a valid point. If you recall what happened when Bush/McCain made those statements there was an uproar. From every news station (cept fox) and from all sorts of politicians, including Hillary Clinton.
Certainly a lot could change Papa, any number of things could happen, but McCain made a statement that has ramifications. He wants to play ball differently than before. He suggested people should vote for him because Obama does not support the state of Israel.
The problem with this has nothing to do with whether Obama is for or against Israel or even for appeasement. The problem is that McCain trivialized our support of Israel and drew a line down party lines for support of Israel. Either you vote for him or you do not support Israel. Well guess what? This makes MANY people very uncomfortable.

It's been four years, Bush's approval ratings are at all times lows, people want out of this war and they don't want more. I don't know one person outside of John McCain that think things should stay the same. Kerry had no where near the turnout that Clinton/Obama have seen in the primaries. Things are much different for our team.

Guilty. Facebook is so time consuming and confusing. I forget where all the little doodads are and what I'm supposed to check and who posted what where. And people keep sending me weird invitations to do all these things like grow a garden or become a werewolf and then I'm supposed to pass it along to others and keep up with all that stuff, which is really a whole lot of nothing but the same thing with different pictures. Can I just be rude and ignore the invitations are do people get offended if you don't join in every single inane little game? And if I send a friend a message, they never reply because they don't think to look there since it is the smallest and most unnoticable part of Facebook, so I have to post something on someone's Wall, or Super Wall, or Fantastic Wall or Crazy Wall for all the world to see just to find out if they got my message because they didn't put their email link on their Facebook page. I must be getting so old.
