I think as a child, the leg in the photo is acceptable. Your face sticks out nicely, regardless. As an adult ,however, the leg thing, or even the old "resting the head on the hand" is too posed and not recommended.

i have just decided that i will sing "dont rain on my parade" for the audition, don't worry, i have gotten into shows with that song. oh and by the way, another overdone one is "somewhere over the rainbow"

this would just be the one i give the casting director, becuase frankly if i cropped it to just be my head, my knee would be in the shot and that would look strange and i could just use one of last years shots or something for the playbill if i do get in. ellen marlow has her school photo in the playbill.

I think it's a great shot. You looked relaed and confident, which is what they're looking for. Use your judgment, if you think it'd be better in black and white, than do that, but your eyes stand out so much in color. As far as the leg thing goes, you're a kid, your head is the main focus of this picture, I think it's fine. Since you can get another one for free, you may want to have one of just your head when you're a bit older, but I think this one shows your personality. Best of luck on your audition, merde!

I really like your headshot, but I wouldn't do the leg. It becomes a focal point and you want the focal point to be your face. I think you are really pretty, and want to know who you got it done by!

well i got it done at a company that does lots of film shots and stuff which is why it looks like a commercial shot. but i got it at kelsey edwards photo studio. dakota fanning has hers done there

Your personality absolutely shines through in this shot, Quinn (or Haley, or whatever). Keep it in color, don't worry about the leg, and print it up. I love it.

I like it -- with the leg (my two best headshots have my legs in them) But arent most headshots black and white? (sory if this is a horribly stupid question)

great headshot. you're eyes look beautiful...they really stand out.

but does anyone else find it odd that an 11 year old is posting. I have a sister who is almost 10 and she's not even allowed to IM people online. I dunno. Kind of scary.

how we gonna pay?: Not a stupid question. The industry standard for headshots used to be black and white. About 3 years ago, it started shifting to color in the TV/Film world, but B&W was still considered OK for theatre. Now, you absolutely have to have a color headshot for TV/Film, and almost everyone's using color even for theatre. I still have a bunch of B&W's left over that my Equity agent likes to use, but when I go to auditions with them, I'm the only one there still using B&W. My color shots (like the one on my profile) are OK, but I prefer my expression in my B&W's, so I guess I need to go get some new color shots done! lol
