i was on vacation this week and just watched my tivo of ai on tues and wed - to quote "jekyll & hyde" has the world gone insane????

i have no idea if this topic has already appeared on the ot board, i didn't do a search, but come on people!!!!

sure she will have a great career without ai, but it should have been her and blake in the finals, not jordin.

I think the Blake part is wrong. In all honesty, I think Melinda and Jordin are better and more versatile singers than Blake. However, I do think he's a very talented guy and I hope he has a great career.

Well, for the 2nd straight year, I'll be passing on the AI finale. Last year, Chris & Eliot were the best singers, but America chose Taylor & Katherine. This year, no Melinda. Imagine, America choosing style over substance.

I am with you on that one jarret.

Let's face it. If the votes REALLY counted, Sanjaya would have won. Yes he would have. But they couldn't have that. Not all the votes go in, and it's not like we the American public will know that they screwed with the votes.
Ryan may know. But Ryan is a mysterious man full of dark secrets. I just know it.

Kay, I've stayed out of this conversation for awhile now becuase I know it's not hte popular opinion, but here's what I think. Melinda has been done a hundred thousand times before. There are literally hundreds of incredible black female singers out there that are just as good if not better than she is, and i've been amazed by them one too many times. She's a great singer, sh'ell have a great career, but I don't see her as being particularly special. That's why i've been very much on the fence with her since the start, and i don't really mind the fact that she's gone.

But they kept Sanjaya on longer than they probably originally planned to, because people were talking about him. You know they secretly love sites like VotefortheWorst.com, as all it does is give them publicity.

They know who is going to win when they cast the top 12. Of course they'd love if the voting reflected that. But that is not always the case.

And I'm with you on Ryan - lots of secrets in that closet...

There is a great article in todays Los Angeles times about how the voting works. The producer of the show goes into heavy detail about how the phone company collects the tabulations and how a separate firm verifies them. It is in todays calendar section.
