What's frightening about it?????? These religious ceremonies have gone on for years and years following Presidential Inaugurations. What's so frightening about this one, compared to all the others that have come before it?

I wasn't aware that it had happened before. Regardless, I thought the human race was supposed to get smarter and wiser as it progresses? When will people start thinking for themselves and really question what they've been told to believe in?

the inauguration is thursday.

the prayer service is friday.

two separate and distinct events. the prayer service has followed each inauguration since 1965.

and just exactly what is so surprising about a prayer service taking place at the national cathedral? ya'll do know what a cathedral is, right?

Well I don't care too much for Bush and since Nov. I've had time to sort of forget he was reelected. Now it's all becoming real again and to top it off... oh never mind. I'm not offended by a prayer service...it's just that two people who aren't very high on my list get to smirk and act smug and important. UGH!

What's the big deal about a prayer service? You notice how Graham's first inauguration participation was for Lyndon Johnson? If you want religion being sinister, there's far better places to look.

For 8 years of Reagan and 4 years of the first Bush, I listened as conservatives and so-called-middle-of-the-roaders* said sentiments just like that. And yes, I do mean you, Belinda Carlysle, if you're reading this. Just the way Britney Spears does in the clip from Farenheit911.

And I remember thinking, I will have to grant them all the benefit of the doubt, and be shocked and relieved if the conservatives behave that way if a Democrat is ever elected President again.

Well, sadly, it didn't happen. The conservatives went after Clinton with a vengeance by about week 6 of his presidency and never let up.

I mean, people, TRAVELGATE??????

So, keep up with the conservative platitudes Rath. You and Britney reveal more commonalities on a daily basis.

As for everybody else, I take ENORMOUS comfort in the fact that I heard a radio interview clip with Billy Graham recently in which he said he's a life-long Democrat.
