Here's a link to an article at snopes.com addressing this issue. Looks like it really did happen. They even talk about why the eye is wide-open on a new-born kitten.

I stand corrected.

I was hoping that picture was fake because it made me so sad..

Poor little baby..

2 of my kittens died when my cat had a litter last year and I am still haunted by their deaths. They both died in my hands while I bawled my eyes out..I was completely helpless.

i don't know what's worse, the fact that it was born with one eye, or that the woman will keep it in her freezer.
