Only when it comes to pets, honey. Trust me.
jaily........perhaps not the biggest, I once had three cats (at the same time) The names on their pedigrees read
Chiang Latzu Aga-Kahn (Ching for short)
T'Pau Suyen de Keoki (Suyen for short)
Blueboy von Baden (Blueboy for short)
Bitch, I will cut you.
Okay, I love cats and don't like to be mean, but I now have something new that will haunt my dreams.
I really feel bad for it. It's terrible to only have one eye.
awww that poor kitty

I don't think the cat had one eye at all. It was just photographed backwards.
and that brings us to the latest rage in stickers.....cat-butt stickers.....imagine, stickers of various breeds of cat butts.......ugh
Oh, this makes me sad. I actually have a sweet little one-eyed kitty. Although, she's not a cyclops. She's got space for two eyes, but one of them didn't develop properly.
omg, poor kitty-witty schmoopy-poopkins!!!
How is the vision in her remaining eye?
The vision in her good eye is great, although her depth perception leaves something to be desired. She's generally pretty good, but I have seen her mis-judge a jump and end up bonking her head on something, which I'm sure doesnt' help the problem!
Oh, the poor baby!!!!!
If it makes you or your cat feel any better, my cat is plain weird and mean.
Ah, don't worry about her. She's just about the happiest, sweetest cat I've ever met. Which is amazing, considering I rescued her from a shelter and she was abused before I got her, and was scared of her own shadow. She probably doesn't have a clue that anything is wrong with her. Except, of course, for the fact that all my friends call her names. I have to admit, the bad eye is pretty gross. But I pretty much don't even notice it anymore.
Iwanna, I can relate. I got my cat when he was 1 year old from my vet. I had a choice of two cats, one was big, white, and a drooler....but very, very loving.
And then there was the other, gray, frantic, scared-to-death....and that's the one I took.
That cat, has been nothing short of perfect. He never jumped on anything, never got into things, follows me everywhere, almost like he appreciatede that he was picked, and knew I was his last chance before going up to Northern Michigan and being a barn cat...(not a bad life for a cat).
He's lived in detroit, San Francisco, and now Palm Springs, and 16 years later he is still perfect......well, except for when he bites me.
Those in need that are chosen, are always the best.

I'm so glad you have her and not some person who probably wouldn't put the effort in to take care of her. I'm feeling warm and cuddly!
It's not often that you can feel like you really got to make a difference, even such a small one, but I'm so glad I have this kitty. I got to make such a difference in her life.
exactly.......
of course at 3AM when mine starts howling, I do wonder why I didn't send him to that barn in Michigan......

I'm a sucker. My husband and I adopted our tiger-tabby when she was in the middle of an upper respiratory infection (it's actually kinda cute watching a cat sneeze, except the boogers). 10-day antibiotic cycle once we get her home, shelter says? We say, OK, get the paperwork.
Our russian blue is five years old and has a heart murmur, shelter says. What do we say? OK, get the paperwork out...
Now when we go to the shelter to visit, they start pitching cats to us - we are suckers for the ones the others overlook.
And both of mine are healthy wonderful companions now.

I actually think the one-eyed cat is kind of cute. Creepy, but cute. I'd take it home!
Pardon my skepticism, but if there are three other pictures (according to the article), where are they? Seeing further photographic evidence would certainly help this cynic!
deng, that's one creepy looking thing. gonna haunt my dreams now.

I always thought that kittens were born with their eyes (or in this case, eye) closed... Me thinks the picture is a fake.

According to
http://www.pawsonline.info/lookingafterkittens.htm
Kitten eyes open at about 8 days so that picture has to be fake.
Here's a link to an article at snopes.com addressing this issue. Looks like it really did happen. They even talk about why the eye is wide-open on a new-born kitten.
