That's a good point, SNAFU. I'll see how it plays out. Not opposed to it; just not sure what the effect will be.
Then again, I'm still only a "Broadway Star" so I don't consider myself part of the Old Mean Girls just yet

Posted: 8/26/13 at 11:05pmThat is fine Kad, then don't do it. I for one do NOT want my posts commented on by someone I have blocked and have other posters wondering why I don't have the balls to answer them. This way, they know. A simple solution.

Agreed, SNAFU. I do appreciate that Rob & Co. went to a lot of trouble to accommodate the wishes of the membership.
But speaking for myself, my scroll bar works just fine.

I understand what you're saying, Diva. I rarely got into anything with that particular poster but I saw ripple effect it was having.
Remember the Boston threads. They were supposed to be a place for us to mourn, cheer the heroes, and read the news. It became so muddied and noisy thanks to that poster. It took so much away from the real meanings of those threads.

#233A thread without what-was-her-name-again-you-know-the-last-troll?
Posted: 8/27/13 at 10:17amI will say yesterday was the first time in a long time I actually enjoyed coming to the board. The ignore feature is really quite wonderful.

I was concerned that it would ruin things but i think its great.
You can say what you want, and have no dissending opinions, insults or threats made to you.
it really is a relief!

I assume this is what It-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named feels like.
Only a matter of time until it's gone for good.

i love how people claim they are using the IGNORE but refer to those very people.

Posted: 8/27/13 at 10:29amSnafu, I agree, and I hope the feature brings back people who have not been around much, if at all, because of all of this
#244A thread without what-was-her-name-again-you-know-the-last-troll?
Posted: 8/27/13 at 10:39amI normally abhor censoring anyone - but I just used the ignore function. But, I also think that by many posters blocking, the problem will go away.
#245A thread without what-was-her-name-again-you-know-the-last-troll?
Posted: 8/27/13 at 10:43amI don't know. I see it is still posting today, even though a lot of people are ignoring it. Talk about people who wear tin foil hats.
#246A thread without what-was-her-name-again-you-know-the-last-troll?
Posted: 8/27/13 at 10:45amI only see it show up on the board when it's the last post on a thread. It's like catching a whiff of something nasty without having to endure the whole stench.
#247A thread without what-was-her-name-again-you-know-the-last-troll?
Posted: 8/27/13 at 10:45amYWW, I too don't like censoring people. If they say something stupid, mean or hateful then let them reap the rewards. Things have a way of working out. However the effect that this one Troll has had on EVERY THREAD it posted in was just too much to deal with.

"I only see it show up on the board when it's the last post on a thread. It's like catching a whiff of something nasty without having to endure the whole stench."
That's exactly the way I described it! Like walking into a room that someone farted in.

Posted: 8/27/13 at 10:56amAnd of course, no one is being censored. Anyone can post whatever they like (within the rules); it's just that people aren't forced to listen.
