I think I said this last night, but I love that picture of him. 'Fed up with hypocrisy, emotional bureaucracy....'

When I first saw it, I thought it looked like he buttoned his shirt wrong.

Hehe, it does kind of look like that, Mandi! I like it, though. And I love your avatar!

So no one else went to the concert last night? Mano sang a solo and a duet with Joe Cassidy. It was greeeeat(I'm a huge Joe fan). Nice harmony.

Do you know what the songs were that he sang? 'Fed up with hypocrisy, emotional bureaucracy....'

His and Joe's duet was called "Emily."

The other song....oy, lemme think...I kind of spent half of it thinking how Joe better get his own song too, b/c Mano's solo came right after their duet...something about not sleeping...it was a slow love song with some pretty notes. He seemed to staring at a girl in the front who looked a bit like Emcee from the back, but bigger.

Joe's other song was called Chase Me Away if anyone's interested. (Sorry for being a bad reporter)

Glad to hear it went well.

I miss Sweeney...a lot.

Darn it, I want to see it again.
I was just listening to him sing and play violin.

I have no idea what to do with that. ha. I had to work late, so I couldn't have gone even if I wanted to. Glad it was good!

Sorry, didn't mean anything by it. It was just I was like...is that her? No, it can't be...b/c...yeah...that's really the only reason I described it that way. I was kind of curious whether it was totally random, the girl was a fan, or if he knew her...but obviously no way to know.

Mandi, it kind of looks like that, doesn't it? ha, that would be so cute. Yet so sad.

I...I think it's right. Maybe. Maybe it just looks like that because the shirt is about 2 sizes too big for him? Hopefully...

"I was kind of curious whether it was totally random, the girl was a fan, or if he knew her...but obviously no way to know."

Hello! First and probably only post, just to quell your curiosity. I'm the mystery girl (and I don't know whether to be offended by the "bigger" thing, but I'll let it go). I'm just a fan. He knows me from MySpace and the stage door, but that's it.
The whole experience was freaky. The song is called "You're Not Sleeping." He caught my gaze as the song started and would not let it go! At first it was fun trying to play along with it, but I couldn't help squirming after a while. Intense, to say the least.
I was curious what the other people in the audience thought. Was it weird? Did it take away from his performance? Who did you think I was? I sure felt like his... something... but honestly, he just picked me because I was right in front of the stage.
Anyway, it's nice to know I didn't imagine the whole thing! Thanks for mentioning it, wickedrentq...

Oh wow, I'm so glad you posted wordnerd! (hope anything negative was clarified via PM).

No, you definitely didn't imagine it. It was quite obvious.

Umm, it didn't take away from the performance...I *guess* it enhanced it with him totally...acting? it. You saw from what I posted who I thought it was...my gut instinct was you were a fan, as honestly I was trying to figure out if I knew you...like I would understand that he might do that to a fan, but I wasn't totally ruling out that he may have known you more...personally, you know?

I can imagine how amazing the experience must have been, and how much you'd love to hear another perspective, so I'm trying to think of anything else...there was this one part...bridge maybe? That he just gave you this like...totally intense...almost-sexually type look at one point and I thought whoever she is, she must be in heaven...

I'm glad you had such a great experience, and thanks for posting. What did you think of the Mano-Joe duet?

I think every actor is different about eye contact. Some just need to have something/someone to focus on, and always make eye contact with someone, be it a person they know or one they've chosen at random. Mano seems to be pretty into it when he performs. Some actors just stare out.

Thanks for letting me tell my story here. I wasn't going to post, but I know if I were anyone else in the audience, I'd be curious too... I lurk here looking for any Mano news, so when you brought up the question of who I was, I couldn't resist jumping in.

I liked the duet with Joe a lot! I was impressed by everyone at the show that night. Of course, after what Mano did to me (...still seems unreal), I didn't see or hear much for the rest of the show. I was shaking and totally unnerved.

What's funny is, my friend and I saw Mano walking around before the show and we were purposely ignoring him. He was busy with the other performers and fans, and we didn't want to bother him. But when he had to walk past our table, he leaned over and stuck his tongue out at me. It was hilarious. No words, just that.

Moral of the story: Ignore Mano and he will get revenge.

Was I in heaven? Good question. It was kind of torturous, but in a good way, sort of like the anticipation of a first kiss. I couldn't even digest the lyrics because my brain was just humming with "Mano's singing a love song to me!!!" I couldn't look away, and I kept waiting for him to look away, and he wouldn't! Even when he stopped singing, he kept staring for a few more moments. And, yeah, two days later I know that he was just acting, OF COURSE, he barely knows me, but sheesh, I'm not an actress, and he's a really, really good actor. That was unfair! I was starting to wonder what exactly he was going to do to me after the song was over. Sadly, he ran out when the song ended.

If he'd been around after the show, I would have punched him. Hard. I'm not sure which part of his anatomy. Because it was almost too much for me to take.

Sorry for the long rambling post. I am still recovering, obviously. 'Fed up with hypocrisy, emotional bureaucracy....'

Ack! Mano's completely fake seduction of me killed the thread! Please return to your usually scheduled chatting! Updated On: 7/21/06 at 11:45 PM
