the senator has asked that it be clarified that his statement in no was was an indictment of barney. he is in fact a huge fan of purple dinosaurs and feels that they have a voice that's been underrepresented by the criminally inept bush administration. he further states that such actions would never have taken place in a kerry administration. in fact, the senator has a long standing relationship with dinosaurs going back to his time in vietnam where he was personally responsible for saving the lives of many dinosaurs who had been marked for destruction by the rampaging american forces during their rape and pillage raids over the border into dinosaurland. finally the senator would like it know that while he has a personal stake in the dinosaur issue, he will not let that personal preference impede his judgement should he later decide that barney is evil and must be destroyed not that he currently believes that barney is evil, but should evidence come to light he remains open to the possibility. in short, john kerry is on your side, unless he's not but he still might be because you probably were just too stupid to understand what he plainly said. sh*t. can we do that again?

Rosie O'Donnell apologizes for remarks
(12-14) 10:26 PST LOS ANGELES -- Comedian Rosie O'Donnell, a regular on the television talk show "The View," apologized this morning for mocking spoken Chinese - following mounting protest from Asian Americans in the Bay Area and across the country.
"I'm sorry for people who were hurt," O'Donnell said.
On Dec. 5, O'Donnell imitated how she thought Chinese broadcasters might sound discussing actor Danny DeVito's drunken appearance on "The View."
"You know, you can imagine in China it's like, 'ching chong, ching chong chong, Danny DeVito, ching chong chong chong, drunk, "The View," ching chong.' "
On Thursday, O'Donnell expressed surprise when she learned that some Asian Americans considered speaking in that kind of sing-song accent an insult as grave as calling a black person by the N-word. She sympathized with people who were teased for their language on the playground while they were growing up.
However, she warned that she was a comedian, and she did accents of all kinds -- including the "Japanese Yiddish" accent of Dec. 5.
"There's a good chance I'll do it again next week," she said. "That's how my brain works."
