I have finally given into the whole harry potter thing, and started reading the books about 2 months ago. I am now on year 5, and am totally, head over heels in love with everything potter. it's kind of scary.

so I saw the first three films before reading the books. for each one, I was like, ok, it's a good film, but nothing to write home about. then I read up to the fourth year, and just watched "the goblet of fire" last week. It wasn't that bad, but I am so glad I read the book first, or It wouldn't have had half the impact on me. the movie did what it could, but you just can't cram 700+ pages into a 2 1/2 hour movie. It left a lot to be desired, I would imagine without reading the book first.

so now I am on page 200 of Order...Phoenix, and of course am loving it, but this has 100 more pages than THe Goblet...Fire. I hope the screenwriter does a better job of fitting all that info effectively into a 2 1/2 hour film.

Wow, I will not rent Goblet of Fire until a week before that date.(I have yet to see it) If I do I'll end up marking my calender like I did from PoA.

I keep on getting my hopes up with these HP adaptations, but I know in the end I'll be disappointed.

So I'm not gonna watch.

As tedious as I find HP5 to read (I "get" that every bit of it is necessary in order for all the clues to come together in the end, so I read it every time I marathon through the whole series) I doubt the movie will actually keep all the vital pieces and it will be yet another Potter movie that won't make sense if you haven't read the book. But I'll watch it anyway.

I had watched the first three movies and I thought they were ok. I found Goblet great, so I read books 5 and 6 and LOVED them !!!(Actually I enjoyed 5 a bit more) So, now, I am including myself to the millions of people who can't wait for movie 5 and most of all, BOOK 7 !!!!!!!!!!

HP5 has its issues, but there are some aspects of it I liked better than 6, actually. (namely, the DA and the twins' exit). And this movie has Imelda Staunton as Umbridge! What fantastic casting.

I think I have an unhealthy addiction to movie trailers. I seriously get more excited about them than actual movies...and spend more time watching them than actual movies.

Akiva, so do I. The trailers show off the best parts of the movies too, that's why they're so enjoyable. I just watched that 12 second clip and Snape sounds extremely terrifying. I AM SO EXCITED!!! :]
