NewYorkUniq - what kind of a situation was that? a sublet? room-mates? a weekly thing? and up-town, no less...yuck. I know how hard it is to find housing in the city - but if you're willing to sublet, you should check out the board at Equity. Lots of people going away for the summer are looking for honest, clean people to sublet their places - that would give you longer to find a place of your own - I did it for several years before getting my own place. Its not a bad way to live if you're lucky to find good room-mates (I was lucky about 99 percent of the time)
