the below link takes you to a ny daily news story that has a photo that is disturbing. if you are or were personally involved in the virginia tech massacre i'd skip clicking on it.
evidently two girls from penn state (as if there was any more reasons needed to hate the nitany lions) dressed up for halloween as va. tech shooting victims complete with va. tech shirts and faux bullet wounds.
now, other than for sensationalism, why do these photos need to be included with the story? the story itself tells where they can be found.

But, having been raised by two Pitt alumni (and pretty much certainly headed there myself) I'm inclined to say that, yes, Penn State is a giant school of dumbasses.

I don't get why crap like this is even newsworthy.
Of course what they're doing is wrong, but they're doing it for the attention (hence the reason they posted the photos on Facebook to begin with) and the news media continues to reinforce this behavior.
I hereby decree that no photos posted on myspace/facebook, or videos posted on youtube ever be made into national news stories again.
Let it be done.

Is this equitable to last Halloween, when people dressed as Steve Irwin? Everyone has their own level of tolerance.
I found these students' statements interesting. Not that I agreed with them, but they were interesting.

That's a really stupid thing to do. If you want to make a splash on campus, do something useful.
That's like when they sold Titanic survivor costumes a few Halloweens ago. Not only is it tacky, but it's incredibly tasteless. If someone dressed up as a Holocaust victim, I doubt so many people would be quick to say that their actions are "harmless."

Yeah, it was a private party, but then who posted the pictures on Facebook? Everyone knows how fast those images spread, unless they're set to private. I mean, this isn't exactly equivalent to what's going on overseas, for example, but it's still disturbing to me that they'd do this. Whatever.
