Dottie, because he picked an "empty skirt" as I heard someone call her. I don't see what she offers to the office. Okay, maybe she can learn on the job, lol, but should anything happen to McCain, (if he were the POTUS). The Republicans claim that Obama lacks experience, but look who they picked.
I'd be surprised if Palin helps bring in the votes. Maybe McCain wants to throw the election so to let the Dems inherit the mess we're in.

Posted: 8/29/08 at 8:01pmThanks, Jane2. I think there are other ways he could thrown the election without his present VP pick.

Adam, I'm projecting to a day when she might find herself the POTUS. I don't think McCain thought of that. Do you think she could handle it?
Well, I'm sure he and his operatives, and the GOP leadership, for that matter, must have thought of that. I have no idea if she could or couldn't handle it, but stranger things have happened.
Despite the fact that I disagree with some of her politics, I thought she gave a very good speech this afternoon. I'm really curious to see how she debates Biden.
It's going to be an interesting 67 days.
What I am happy about is that hopefully her selection will take the "experience" factor off the table and we can focus on the issues now. A pipe dream, I know.
Oh, and if Obama is elected, I wouldn't be surprised to see Palin and Bobby Jindal re-emerge in 2012.

I know what you mean by coverage fatigue. Keith Olbermann totally served her tonight though, it was pretty sweet. Countdown kind of rules.

Interesting thread to review.
The woman discussed on 8/29 is hardly the person we've grown to (not) know in the past 7 weeks.
Her candidacy reminds me of a famous porn title from the 80s:
"The cunning stunt"
