I am planning a trip to NY the first weekend in June with a heavy play schedule. This will actually be my first trip by myself, so I'm a little nervous going all the way from AZ by myself. I wanted to ask everyone's opinions on the plays that are opening before then. I did some searches, but couldn't find anything in lengthy detail.

My tentative plan is to see LoveMusik (I wanted to fit in one musical), Inherit the Wind, Moon for the Misbegotten, Frost/Nixon and Coram Boy. I'm not a HUGE Lansbury fan (I know I should be shot) so Deuce to me is not really an option. Plus the play itself doesn't really sound that intriguing.

I would really appreciate any feedback on these plays and if there's something else that is an absolute must see that won't be there when I go back in Jan. '08. Thanks everyone!

I haven't heard too much about Journey's End, although I loved Jefferson Mays in I Am My Own Wife.

Don't miss TRANSLATIONS, too. Also, see what might be good off-broadway.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Translations looks good, but it won't be there when I get there. LoveMusik will have taken over. Since I'm only going to be there Fri, Sat and Sun I want to try and see Broadway plays unless there's an outstanding piece of Off-Broadway theatre that will be there when I'm there, which is certainly likely.

Journey's End does sound great the more I read about it and the reviews look really good also. Do you guys think it'll still be there though in June?

Frost/Nixon by all means. It's a wonderful play - I just saw it in London - and Frank Langella gives one of the greatest performances you will ever see as Nixon. Michael Sheen (Tony Blair in The Queen) is sensational as Frost. You will love it.

Faced with these Loreleis, what man can moralize!

I only saw three plays last season, and I regret not seeing more. I hope that this season will be a season for me to see a lot of plays. I'm definitely going to look into a lot of these.

Frost/Nixon does look to be an amazing play. I loved Michael Sheen's performance in The Queen and thought he should have gotten an Oscar nomination.

I know several people who have seen A Moon for the Misbegotten in London and I can't wait to see it! Already have tickets for April. I love O'Neill's work and especially this play.

i enjoyed Radio Golf but it's not as much of the drama you'd think it would be. it's more of a dry comedy with a bit of seriousness in it. i love the racial tones that're thrown in politically but then i love almost anything August Wilson writes.

I've read some August Wilson, but have never seen anything staged. Not sure if Radio Golf should be my first August Wilson play I see.
