It's a 100% original musical from one of the most talented musical theatre composers working today. BRING IT! :3

re: 13-jason robert brown#3
Posted: 7/11/07 at 7:51pmI adore Jason Robert Brown's work, but I saw this in LA and couldn't stand it.

There is a post on JRB's site about things moving forward, but he can't talk about it. He does however give out the phone number of the person in charge of casting.

Posted: 11/9/07 at 11:03amI love 13, and have been its biggest champion ever since I saw it numerous times in LA.

There was a post on ATC yesterday saying that 13 was "dead in the water for this year, at least" in terms of whether it was moving to Broadway or not.
re: 13-jason robert brown#8
Posted: 11/9/07 at 3:31pmI really don't think so. A few of my friends have final callbacks coming up for the show and as far as I know, it's planning on a spring opening. I think JRB is in heavy talks with producers...hence why he couldn't release any real information. But I called the hotline and they said they would set up audition appointments by headshot and resume.
re: 13-jason robert brown#9
Posted: 11/9/07 at 4:14pmI saw it in Los Angeles, and enjoyed it. It had its share of problems, but he's such a great tunesmith.
re: 13-jason robert brown#10
Posted: 11/9/07 at 4:20pmI saw it in Los Angeles. It was OK. Just OK. Needs work.

Posted: 11/9/07 at 4:32pmAny clue as to why it might be dead in the water this season? Did the ATC poster say? I heard positive and negative things about 13 from people who saw it, but I adore JRB, and am all for any original musical making the transfer.

Posted: 11/9/07 at 10:52pmI think Jason Robert Brown is a decent composer but I loathed 13.
re: 13-jason robert brown#14
Posted: 11/10/07 at 10:02amI heard that 13 auditions are likely to be limited to NYC area residents at present.
re: 13-jason robert brown#15
Posted: 11/10/07 at 10:19amI enjoyed it in LA but it's pitched to a very young audience and I just don't see it on Broadway. Hope I'm wrong.
re: 13-jason robert brown#16
Posted: 11/21/07 at 1:22pmThe show is going through rewrites now to be ready for a supposed opening between spring and fall of next year. A director has been picked and the broadway run is official without being "official"

Posted: 11/21/07 at 3:49pmIs there a demo recording of this? Does anyone have it and if so how does one get their hands on it?
re: 13-jason robert brown#19
Posted: 11/22/07 at 1:46amThere are demos on JRB's website. There is one song about being a friend and then there's a triplet - excerpts from 3 numbers.

Posted: 11/22/07 at 3:34amThey are replacing the director? He was the least of their many problems.
re: 13-jason robert brown#21
Posted: 11/22/07 at 11:15amGuys...JRB is in heavy rewrites...lets not pronounce its death before we even know what the new show will be like.

Posted: 11/26/07 at 11:02pmAny idea why auditions are limited to NYC residents only? I've never heard of any other Broadway show asking for local residents only.
re: 13-jason robert brown#24
Posted: 11/26/07 at 11:03pmI don't think they are... many of the camp callbacks are kids from all over the country.
