Hey everybody!
I'm just in New York with my family right now, seen some fantastic shows so far! SPEED-THE-PLOW, THE 39 STEPS, SHREK THE MUSICAL, WHITE CHRISTMAS, and just saw EQUUS this evening.
(I would have to say, THE 39 STEPS has been my favorite show so far, if you haven't seen it yet you definitely should). We also have plans to hopefully see LIZA on Wednesday.
Anyways, I want to rush a show for tomorrow evening, and its pretty much down to either 13 or PAL JOEY. I know both of them haven't had the greatest reviews or word of mouth, but I'm still curious to see them nonetheless.
So which do you all think would be more worth my $25 rush ticket- 13 or PAL JOEY?
Any and all opinions are appreciated, thanks for the help =D

Did you really have to pick the two worst shows on B'way right now??
Why not August osage county???
Anything but those two.
Wow... I never thought I'd see the day where those were your choices. What about August? Or Billy Elliot? Or Gypsy? Or In the Heights? Or Spring Awakening? Or perhaps see something off-Broadway? ANYTHING other than those two.
I guess if I had to pick one... 13. Because it is a new musical. If you really must see Pal Joey, go rent the movie or find a regional production.

See Gypsy. Everyone in the world should see this wonderful show. You will be happy you made that choice when you leave the St. James Theatre.
BOTH ARE TERRIBLE CHOICES
GYPSY IS THE WAY TO GOOOO
I would just like to point out that according the signature, the OP has already seen Gypsy... still, even seeing it again with be a bajillion times better choice than seeing either of the shows you mentioned.
Between those two, neither. Since you said your favorite so far is the 39 Steps, you should really consider seeing another great comedy on Broadway-- Boeing Boeing. I haven't seen the replacements, but Mark Rylance, who I personally think is the most essential part of this play, is still in it. Christine Baranski is also still in it and she was great too.
Oh no worries, I've already seen GYPSY, AUGUST, SPRING AWAKENING, and IN THE HEIGHTS on previous trips (and if all else fails, I'll just go see AUGUST again because its definitely the best show I've ever seen). My family tried for BILLY ELLIOTT for tickets and couldn't get any. And I was considering BOEING BOEING, but the cheapest ticket was for $36 in the back of the balcony, so I wasn't too sure if the seat would be worth the extra money...
I was also thinking ALL MY SONS...any other suggestions, tho?
By the way, verynewyorkcurious, just wanted to say I loved the avatar. Saw SLUMDOG on Sunday and its one of my favorite movies this year! =]
Really: if you are worried about spending the money....DON'T waste your money on either shows! You will be throwing away money...especially after the terrific shows you've already seen.
Go see Boeing, Boeing...it's terrific and closing soon!
Go see Boeing Boeing. I've seen it twice and it's absolutely worth it. I sat in the $20 box and it's absolute garbage. I think I will see it again... from what I remember there are $26.50 seats in the rear balcony? Otherwise, I would pay the $36 to see it. I've seen both 13 & Pal Joey, and while my choice would be 13 of the two... I say Boeing Boeing.
I also would see Gypsy as many times as possible.
While I absolutely adore Pal Joey, the current cast does not do the production the justice that it deserves. So I'd say don't waste your money. And I'm not a 13 fan, so I'd also recommend staying away from that. Why not look into some good shows Off Broadway?

13.
It is a good musical and it is closing. Plus, it's a family friendly show, and your with your family.
WishingOnlyWounds2 works for "13."
The show is atrocious.
See ALL MY SONS. Diane Wiest and John Lithgow's performances are worth the price of admission. The show is always on TKTS, too. So you shouldn't have to pay a lot.
See something off broadway, see something off off broadway, see something good - which would exclude 13 ....... it really is terrible.

I don't work at '13', I don't work in the city.
'13' is a good show.

I would agree with WishingOnlyWounds2.
The revival of Pal Joey was extremely boring, and a huge waste of my time. I liked 13 leagues better than Pal Joey.

Thank you!
I haven't seen Play Joey yet, so I"ll say 13. It was cute.
Personally, I would go see In the Heights or Gypsy again.

13 blows and so does WishingWounds.
They don't, YOU do.
Josh, why do you feel the need to step in and rescue WishingWounds every time?
I'll just add in my own thoughts as well - I agree, 13 sucks
Wow
what an amazing comeback. I'm absolutely speechless. Of course.

13 if it is between those too but go see something better something else that is closing or go to the Marvelous Wonderettes(sp) off-Broadway. You can get really cheap tickets to 13 one of the only reasons I recommend it over Pal Joey (which is really bad)
