1989 Royal Shakespeare Company Produciton of Wizard of Oz

So, I am madly in love with what I've seen of the design, and someone posted a clip from it (I've never seen any other clips).

It's "If I Only Had a Heart", and there's some washout but for those who might care...

The vocalists are trees in togas.

I thought you ought to know that this question caused me to let out a strangled pterodactyl noise. Now I have to explain to my family why I'm making weird noises.

EDIT: but to add something more on-topic, do we know which theatre this was? Them pesky Shakespearites have more than one kicking around. :3

I remember this getting good reviews and I seem to recall it touring around a bit; I think a CD may have been released as well.

The cast album was on LP, Casette and CD.

I remember having on cassette. I didn't much like it at first, but after a while I found myself really enjoying it.

Much better than that disastrous concert version some year later.

I have it on casette and CD...actually two different ones, I found the Jay highlights release when I was like 9, and then last August, when Oz was at Casa, the Barnes and Noble across the street had the full Jay recording.

And I secretly love the 1995 Concert...it's fun.

I like the full Jay Records CD, but I like the Madison Square Garden cast recording better. Just because Eartha Kitt plays the witch and gets to sing. It makes me happy.

The Madison Square Garden one, while a truly wonderful CD, features more dialogue, where the Jay features the full instrumental pieces for Twister, and largely for Poppies/Act 1 Finlae.
