Thanks for posting:)
It will be playing at the Wang in Boston.
Now the question is...when do the tickets go on sale? Hmmm....
I now fear the multitude of "rent tour rush/lotto" threads that will occur.
coolkid will be making one any second now.
Oh, god NOOO...what have I done? I should have never posted this thread! but who knows, maybe coolkid won't see it.
looks like I will be seeing Rent again
I've known it was coming to Denver since the week the tour was announced. Just didn't know the dates. I hope it plays the Ellie instead of the Buell. But I am sure it will probably be at the Buell.
uncageg, I'm going to be in Denver for that same week, so I will probably go see it there too.
Are those the two main Broadway theatres there?

Check with the individual theatres in your city. If dates are posted, then the contracts with theatres are finalized or close to it. Most of the theatres will be able to tell you, and many are already advertising the show.
It's true that the venue will make the decision as to line or lotto. It has always been this way. For those of you who are worried about huge venues being used, and the show 'disappearing' in a large space, this, also has often been the case with the tour. They almost always play huge venues, 2000+ seats are common. Ticket sales, also, and the date that they're available, will also be determined by the venues.
As for Japan, there have been two tour visits to Japan since the debacle that was the Asian tour. They survived just fine.
The Buell is the main theater. it is Huge. The Ellie used to be the Auditorium theater. They just totally re-did it and it is beautiful. Mermaid played there when it was here last summer. And it is smaller, closer to the size of a Broadway house. The Buell seats around 2,800 and Ellie seats around 2,225. But the Buell was supposed to remove some side seats because of sightline problems. Not sure how many they removed.
edit: We will find out where it is playing when the season is announced. However I will know beforehand. I can actually find out now, I just haven't asked. It will most likely be the Buell based on the dates it is playing.

::breathes sigh of relief for Chicago::
Same
I just dissolved into a fangirl...Cleveland. Hell Yes.
Sweet!! It's coming to Dallas...I was worried it wouldn't. This made my day.
Figures doesn't come anywhere near me, not even Cinci or Lexington and Indy...*sighs* Guess that means time to visit relatives in Philly...

I'm disappointed, because a 4 hour drive takes more commitment then I wanted to put into this. Yet I still kind of want to go.
Wish I knew who else would be in the cast. That would probably make the decision.
I am crossing my fingers that there would be no lay over and instead....it would be stopping over in san francisco on may 19 to 24!
Post Japan wouldn't hurt also and hoping for a sit down in sf.
A lay off is not the same thing as a lay over.
Were the stops supposed to be short? Did they announce that when they announced the tour?

These stops are generally longer than the non-eq dates. They were staying in places for a day or two.
It stayed in Chitown fir a week.
