2010 Tony Awards Host??

Did a search and couldn't find anything. Who's the host or has there been no announcement yet?? Or do you think there will be no host again? Personally, I liked NPH last year and hope he hosts again. I know others may think differently, but that's just my hope!!

Since we are on the topic of performances I can't help but wonder what Everyday Rapture will perform. NONE of the songs work out of context. A shortened version of the '[e-mail]' scene would work.

I am against Glee performing, because Broadway is about live voices, not auto-tuned craptastic music. However, involving Glee would get them amazing ratings.

I'd rather have Glee perform than Mamma Mia, Legally Blonde or Jersey Boys.

Yeah, since somebody brought up performances, the nominated musical performances are going to be...interesting. I mean, what song can American Idiot perform that isn't laden with curses or hasn't been done on another award show? Will La Cage just stick Hodge at center stage and have him belt his face off or will they feel obligated to bring the ensemble and Grammer on stage?

Doug Hodge can't and doesn't belt. So that won't happen.

Well, they're performing "Holiday" on Letterman so we'll see what changes they'll do there. However, I know it's the last song of the show and I doubt they'll perform it, but "Whatsername" is really beautiful and shows off Kitt's orchestrations, Hoggett's choreography, and the cast's voices. Plus, no curse words.

My vote is for Sutton and Hunter Foster! I think that would be AMAZING!! I love them together, they are both awesome, and a riot!

1. That would really get people to tune in- the show hosted by two no-name siblings.

2. The Tonys would turn into a cure for insomnia with those two at the helm.

3. Neither of them is a "riot", nor do either of them have the requisite charm, personality, or star quality to anchor a 3-hour awards show.

As far as American Idiot performing songs with curses, they can always bleep themselves a la Spring Awakening, like "Totally STUCK" or "Yeah you're *cover mouth with hands* all right, and all for spite, you can kiss your sorry *cover mouth with hands* goodbye..." That kind of goes against the whole punk-rock thing but hey, I suppose for the Tonys maybe even Idiots make exceptions.
