So it sounds like we won't even get to see Bernadette accept her award. You've got one of the biggest Broadway stars in the world there and she's not going to have a live on air acceptance so that we can see a cruise ship production number. Oy.
I don't think this was posted yet. From the Tony Awards site:
Norbert Leo Butz and Beth Leavel to Host Creative Arts Awards, Presented by InterContinental Hotels and Resorts
By Ben Pesner
A pair of past winners will be on hand on Sunday evening, June 10 to preside over the Creative Arts Awards portion of the 2012 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards® ceremony. Presented by InterContinental Hotels® and Resorts, the Creative Arts Awards will be hosted by Norbert Leo Butz and Beth Leavel. Several of the Creative Arts Awards will be presented immediately before the Tony telecast begins; the remaining ones will be presented during commercial breaks throughout the evening. All winners will be acknowledged on the CBS broadcast.
The 2012 Tony Awards, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will be telecast on Sunday, June 10 on CBS. We'll be posting the Creative Arts Awards segments, as well as the winners' acceptance speeches, here on TonyAwards.com that evening.
Bernadette really got the shaft, huh?
Air the creatives on PBS! Do it.
I created this account just so I can chime in with my shared disappointment in the lack of technical/creative awards in the broadcast. Seriously, those are some of the best awards!
Remember the good ol' days when they used to show them on PBS before the 'official' fancy let's-start-singing-and-dancing part?
Oh, and Marian Seldes acceptance speech WAS the best ever. Not only was it funny, but it just proves how wonderful an actor she is that she can hold an audiences complete attention like that without saying a word. Marvelous.
ps: now that I've found this board, I think I'll stick around

Do these start at 6 or 7? I forget every year.

So I have to drag my computer to the Tony party so I can hear Chris Gattelli's acceptance speech? Despicable!
I just read about the Press Room Cam: "Watch our live video feed from the press room as winners face the media immediately after picking up their Tony Award statuettes. Following the Red Carpet, from 8:00 p.m. ET through 11:30 p.m. ET."
So if I see a winner on the feed before the live telecast on CBS, then I will assume they are the Creative Arts winners?
