^^ I thought that myself when I found out. Best break out some Kleenex, then, friend, because it is touring.

Who would tour IF/THEn without Idina?
Jackie Burns since she's the understudy on broadway
The show needs Idina Menzel's name if it's going to sell on the road.

OMG haven't heard rumors about that Hedwig tour. Fingers crossed it would make a stop in Atlanta!
I hope they cast well known broadway actors for the leads in the Bridges of Madison County tour.

Little Mermaid most likely won't tour. The rights are set to release in Fall of 2015 with MTI.
I don't hink the rights being out mean anything. Beauty and the Beast, Elf, The Grinch, Chicago, and countless others have toured with the rights available.
Do you guys think that Les Miserables will go on tour? or Violet?
I can see Violet possibly doing a sit-down run, like Follies did. But only if Sutton came along with it.
I wish L.A. had their own broadway-like area. Chicago has so many broadway tryouts, tours, etc. sometimes at the same time. They're lucky.

I just read that Louisville will announce their season on February 19th which is about 3 weeks earlier than last year. I am so excited to find out what amazing shows we get this next season!
I font think we have ever heard that early before! I am 99 percent positive we are getting Kinky Boots. Cyndi mentioned it when she was here with Cher and when I asked the Broadway Across America rep. If we were getting it, she gave a silly kind of "I don't know?" and then gave a very obvious wink. I wouldn't be surprised if Louisville got Wicked again. It's been almost 3 years and it always sells out.

I really hope we get Kinky Boots and I would love to see Wicked again. What do you think the chances are of Louisville getting Matilda or Beautiful?
I honestly don't know. There are a lot of great shows going out, and I'm pretty easy to please. I wouldn't be surprised if Chicago came back. It's been years since it's been here.

Chicago goes to the smaller market a lot in Lexington now, though, so I don't really see it coming back to Louisville. It was in Lexington just last year.
What's the most shows your theatre has had in a season, not including random concerts???
The Pantages Theatre (here in LA) had 11 in the 2012-2013 season, had 9 in the 2013-2014 season, has 7 in THIS season, & HOPEFULLY this upcoming 2015-2016 has more shows.. because we've been getting less shows a season by the years.
Shows here usually run for 3 weeks, but every holiday we get a BIG show like The Book of Mormon, The Lion King, or Wicked that run for usually 3 months.
The Addams Family was in Lexington in March 2013 then it was announced it was opening Louisville's season that October. I actually saw it on both it's Kentucky stops! Anything can happen.
I think the most Louisville has gotten is 6 or 7 but it's usually 5 and sometimes there are 1 or 2 season extras. Usually the longest runs we ever have are 2 weeks, which is rare in itself, but Lion King IS getting 3 weeks. Our concerts are part of a completely different series. So consider yourself lucky you average anywhere from 7 to 11! :)
Orlando usually gets six, with an add-on or two. This year we have two add-ons (Book of Mormon and Beauty and the Beast). Of our 6 shows this year, two of them are non-equity (Anything Goes and I Love Lucy: the Musical). The equity tours this season are Phantom, Newsies, Motown, and Pippin. Everything is here for a week this year, except Phantom (which inexplicably got 2 weeks) and Mormom, which also has two weeks.
Incidentally, Newsies is easily the best seller thus far, well outpacing even Book of Mormon. Most perfomances are already sold out.

To be fair if BOM is 2 weeks and Newsies is 1 it makes since the latter would sell out first.
I wonder what year it was that things got so bad, short-lived flops like Bridges (100 performances), Ghost (136) and Bullets (156) were considered viable touring material.
Maybe 2000? When Parade (84 performances) kicked off it's tour that June.
