I definitely remember them sharing a bicycle one of those days (per Ari’s Insta story), and I believe they saw a few shows together too."
They were already close friends long before the stair catch. Julius played Quique in the WSS film.

Lincoln Center has some gorgeous spaces and the acoustics are top-notch. I once went to the Geffen back in 2018 to see Dudamel conduct Beethoven’s 9th complete with a full chorus, and it was quite the experience."
Acoustics at Geffen Hall and the State Theater (which I will continue to call it and if Mr. Koch wants me to refer it under his name then I have my price) are vastly different. When it was Avery Fischer, the joke was it was ideal for a terror attack because someone could set a bomb off on stage and no one would hear it. It's much better now, but it's made for orchestras. The state theater isn't made for sound and it shows.

And as much as the Koch brothers have been a horrible player in American politics, they've been a vital one in arts and sciences.
Both things can be true.
How many times I'm watching a PBS program and it shows the name of their foundation. They give a lot of money to arts and science.

Of course both things are true, it's why donors like the Koch's give to cultural organizations... to elevate their name and to win allies among the class of people who appreciate their largesse.
But back to Lincoln Center, it was essentially created by fossil fuel under the fundraising patronage of John D. Rockefeller (Standard Oil). The Met Opera's long time patron was Texaco Oil.
The entire complex is built on climate destruction.

Whatever your personal opinion of the result, the New York State Theater was most certainly "made for sound." Like the Met, it was "made" for opera and dance, one of which always relies on "sound" and the other almost always does. Moreover, in its early years, the venue also housed the Music Theater of Lincoln Center, under the leadership of Richard Rodgers who, you might be aware, knows a thing or two about sound. The Geffen vastly improves on the acoustics that have always been an enigma there, but it still doesn't hold a candle to Carnegie Hall. I was there this week and again reminded of the contrary enigma.
