24 Hours In NYC

Hey there~ I'm flying to NYC next week for literally one night and I'm seeing Hadestown (Sept 14 at 8pm). I want to watch 2 matinees so I'm thinking Mean Girls and Book of Mormon. I've seen all the classics but what about Dear Evan Hansen? Krysta Rodriguez (54 Below)? Oklahoma? Waitress?

Let me know what you guys think! Coming in from Miami!

Is this one of those Logic Problems in the Penny Press?

You will have fun, but I think you'll need more than 24 hours to see two matinees.

The tour of MORMON hits Sarasota and Gainesville in January 2020.

Fort Lauderdale welcomes MEAN GIRLS in March 2020. Tampa and Orlando are also tour stops a few weeks ahead of Lauderdale.

Mean Girls, Mormon, and DEH probably will all run a few more years, so I would catch Oklahoma and Waitress before they close.

I really want to watch Renee Rap and she starts tomorrow - I feel like she'll be really strong and will resurge the show in a way

Then certainly buy MEAN GIRLS in NYC to see Renee Rap.

I saw Mormon and Evan Hansen on Wednesday, my first two show day.  I've also seen Mean Girls and Waitress... for what it's worth I prefer Mormon or Hansen over those two.

Not sure how you would get Rodriguez in as her show is at 7:00 the night you are seeing Hadestown and she doesn't do a matinee.

Definitely see Oklahoma over Mean Girls! Firstly, Oklahoma is a limited run, and MG is not. That being said, Oklahoma is also much better than Mean Girls. It is a unique revival that you shouldn't miss!

Oklahoma! will also be on tour but I would see it on Broadway especially for the way it is staged. And it is a terrific show!

I haven't seen Mean Girls but I personally would recommend skipping Oklahoma unless you're familiar with the original rendition of the show and are actually genuinely interested in seeing a unique take. I found the show painfully hokey and boring. The performances were strong but the plot and storytelling itself was just awful for me.

Hadestown on the other hand is absolute gem of a show. Have fun! 24 Hours In NYC
