Hey everyone,

I wanted to go see a show at 54 Below, but I'm 16 and I would probably go alone. I know there is no age restriction, but since it's cabaret seating, would it be awkward/dangerous to attend? Should I find someone to bring with me? If anyone has gone there alone (or at all) when most of the people are older, how was it?

Thank you!

I'm not young, so I can't answer on that. However, I have gone by myself and they are good about pairing up single tickets at the tables. Not sure how it would be for a general admission though. As far as safety, it's a very small venue with lots of staff, so I'm sure you would be just fine!

Safety - no issue at the venue at all.

Awkwardness - that depends on you, I never have a problem attending things alone - I enjoy it now and again.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Not quite 16- I am 23 and have gone alone, I sat at the Bar Rail because that felt less awkward than a table where you're looking at people (I saw at a table my first time there with a friend, and even that felt a little awkward). You'll either get seated next to other singles, which could be fun, or a couple who will probably ignore you so you don't have to worry about it.

Probably depends on the show, as well. Safety, though, don't worry about it.

I have always made friends at 54 Below. And it's a super safe place.

I go alone all the time, but I'm not 16. It's a very small venue and safe. Enjoy.

Use to work there and people came alone all the time, so no biggie. And you're in a room with likeminded people. Is it for the Joe Iconis thingy? You'd def be fine. They use the whole space and its a fun time.

Not 16, but I go alone all the time.  I usually try to get bar rail seating since it's less awkward.  I've also sat in the main dining room at tables with strangers.  You may meet other people like you with similiar interests.  I don't think you need to worry about safety.

My granddaughter was 10 years old the first time I took her to 54 Below. There were no difficulties about her age and she enjoyed herself.
