Well had a fabulous time!!!
Can I please just say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who posted on here giving me info about rush info/times and everything like that, it has saved us SO much money!!
In addition to the musicals I also saw A Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo but I really can't compare it to everything else since it was so different!! I really enjoyed it and it was fabulous to see one of my all time favourite actors (Robin Williams) live on stage (and to meet him afterwards too, what a lovely person, he was signing and taking photos with everyone). The play itself is very good, it was a very fast play and really kept your attention. Also my first play on Broadway!!
MUSICALS RANKINGS
#1 Book of Mormon - What can I say!! It is sheer perfection. My kind of show! I was totally captivated. This is gonna sweep the Tonys and absolutely must transfer (please Sonia!!!). I completely fell in love with Andrew Rannells from the moment he walked on stage.
#2 How to Succeed - Daniel Radcliffe is real star! I loved his performance, he is just right for the part, so cheeky! Loved the show. Pure traditional BROADWAY!!!
#3 Memphis - My second time seeing this and loved it just as much! Was PACKED! Motego Glover is a stunning performer! Was nice to see Brian on as Huey and see a different interpretation, his performance was as good as Chads! Loved his "Memphis Lives in Me"
#4 Anything Goes - I loved this! I love Sutton Foster as it is and it was great to see her dancing a lot in this show. The dance numbers were wonderful! A very strong supporting cast, particularly Colin Donnell, He has a good chance at the Tony!
TIED#4 American Idiot - Yes I have two number 4's. I can't compare this and Anything Goes they are so different. I enjoyed seeing this again so much, had amazing seats this time (second row!!). The music is great, a shame it is closing
#6 Spiderman - At the end of act one, I thought, whats everyone complaining about... This is GREAT!!! Then act two happened and it wasn't as slick. The flying is spectacular. The score is what I expected but the overall design was stunning. Reminded me a LOT of Lord of the Rings, although I think I liked this more.
#7 Wonderland - Fun fluff. Music was nice enough, the show was nice enough but none of the performers stood out.
#8 Catch Me If You Can - I feel so let down! This is one I was most excited to see and it wasn't good. The music was bland and I just didn't enjoy the show.
Excellent. Total cost for 9 shows - $299!!!!!! Most we paid was $69 for Bengal Tiger after we were some of the only people to lose the lottery! Turns out the seats were unsold premium tickets which can sell for $250!!!
Other tickets:
How to Succeed ($30 Rush, second row!), Wonderland ($32 student rush), Catch me if you can ($27 Student Rush), Book of Mormon ($27 standing), Spiderman ($30 rush), Anything Goes ($30 rush box seats with fab view!), Memphis ($26.50 front row :), American Idiot ($27 Lotto).

Posted: 4/5/11 at 11:19pmSounds like a great six days, something I'd love to do! But is it just a bit too much? It must be hard to fully appreciate each show, and I would worry that the finer details may be lost as you reflect in time to come.

Jay Lerner-Z, I've done West End trips where I've managed to get in 5-6 shows in four days (after day trips and other sightseeing), and though exhausting I've been able to appreciate them all, as long as I can get caffeine during the intervals.
BUT I have to give it up to Mark-E for being able to tolerate getting up early and standing out in the cold at various points of the day for rush, lottery and standing room tickets. That's some patience and stamina!

I don't think seeing so many affects me too much, I'm used to seeing shows a lot in London. I really try and soak each one in while I'm watching.
And yes patience and planning was key! I knew I absolutely had to see Book of Mormon so instead of relying in lottery, I made sure I was first in the standing line at 3pm on Thursday. It was only 3 hours, and for the hottest ticket on Broadway I don't think thats too bad when it guarantees you a ticket!
