This is by far the funniest thread I have seen in a long time!

I saw A Christmas Carol at MSG and the TV movie. Jason Alexander's performance was suitable, but nothing outstanding. The guy I saw at MSG (whose name escapes me) was far superior in the same role. The TV version was a major let-down both on its own as well as compared to the stage production.

As for everything else, it's just all too bizarre. I'm simply stunned. Is this a joke? Where's Alan Funt?

PLEASE tell me a person on this planet doesn't actually think Jennifer Love Hewitt is greater than Ethel Merman, Betty Buckley, Bernadette Peters, Mary Martin, or hell - I'll say it - Idina Menzel!!!

JLH was the second best actor in the show, behind Jane Karkowski. But certainly nothing that will stick in my memory for being an outstanding performance. On Christmas day, the show won't be in my head. Mickey's Christmas Carol will. A Muppet Christmas Carol will. NOT the Kelsey Grammer Christmas Carol - The Musical.

Grr...the bad thing about online interaction is that you can't SLAP somebody!

MARGO- what you have said earlier in this post about the list being absolutly atrocious made me so unbelievably happy! i could not agree with you or gherbert more! and in my opinion, ANYTHING is better than the recent tv verison of A CHRISTMAS CAROL. in the words of gherbert, YOU ARE MY HERO as well. there are so many greats that came and went before our time, that sadly go unacknowleged today. that makes me sad
