Hey you guys...this is a really stupid question but...why is "A Change in Me" not in the OBC Recording of Beauty and the Beast yet it's in the sheet music book? Did they add it recently or something? Just a little confused...thanks.

I *think* the song was added for Toni Braxton when she was cast as Belle. Maybe the sheet music has been revised since, and you just have a newer version? The song wasn't originally in the show, if I'm not mistaken.

Emcee that's correct. The song was added for Toni Braxton. I'm glad they kept it in, it's a nice song.

I love this song. Susan Egan sings it on her album "So Far..." and Brooke Tansley sings it beautifully every show.

when tony sang it it was a blues number but they changed it a bit after she left to fit all belles - it's a great song!!! definitely check out susan's version to complete the obc recording!!

'A Change In Me' is a Beautiful song.While I have seen the show without it...After hearing Brooke Tansley`s Beautiful performance of it...it is hard to even think about 'Beauty and the Beast' without it.Just kind of seems like it was always there.
I would like to hear Susan Egan`s recording of it.I Doubt though that it could ever sound better then when Brooke sings it.
Go hear for yourselves...

it was added cuz Toni wanted a song to sing in act two. I think it was for the better. it's a really great song, steals act two by far. it may be out of place and a bit of a let down but I think it's okay to stop the show at that point. everything after goes by so fast with the battle and all. it's nice to be able to stop for a second. although I'm pretty sure if you do the show through MTI they don't let you use the song.
