A Chorus Line Notes
A Chorus Line Notes#1

Just figured I'd give some recent notes & updates about A Chorus Line. I saw the show last night for the third time. Everyone seems comfortable in their roles and the cast is still very strong. No review, just some notes.
1. A Chorus Line has been removed from TKTS. Tried the 20/20 rush but failed as there were about 100 people there. Was lucky enough to get the 4th SRO spot. Just a warning for anyone thinking of trying rush this week or next week. It looks like ACL won't be on TKTS until September now.
2. The show has added three more swings/understudies: Aaron J. Albano(with the show since January, u/s Paul, Mark, Larry) plus Dylis Croman (standby Cassie/Sheila) & Courtney Laine Mazza(u/s Diana, Judy, Maggie, Kristine).
3. The show is now selling tickets past July 8 and through the end of the year. However, it seems as though they are only available at the boxoffice for those dates. Telecharge doesn't have them available after July 8 yet.
4. Starting July 10, every Tuesday performance will start at 7pm instead of 8pm.
5. For this entire week, Charlotte d'Amboise will be out. I overheard her u/s, Nadine Isenegger, at the stage door saying she's playing Cassie for the rest of the week.
6. The cost of the show's program has doubled to $20 as a tote bag is now included.
7. They are currently auditioning replacements for the Broadway show as well as the national tour. The replacements are to start sometime in late August.
Just a quick update for everyone!!

Im glad I caught it last week with Charlotte. Tony Yazbeck was out though. What a great show!
Oh, and some shows are not on TKTS when they are sold out, but I doubt that ACL was removed from TKTS for good.

There was another male swing added...I don't have my playbill in front of me from Saturday (since Im at work) but another was added besides Aaron. Crap...his name escapes me now...
Charlotte was sick on Saturday but performed...lots of other people were out though - Tony Yasbeck, Alisan Porter, Brad Anderson, Heather Parcells, and James T Lane....and Joey Dudding was still covering for Jason Tam.

Omg, Aaron J. Albano??? Looks like our hopes for a SF/Boston Bee on Broadway are dashed. Still, bully for him! I echo the question as to whether anyone's seen him...
Kind of want the tote bag...

Posted: 3/14/07 at 12:29pmOn Friday, they announced that Dylis Croman has joined the company and will standby Cassie and Sheila. The role of Judy was played by Pamela Jordan, the role of Richie was played by E. Clayton Cornelious, the role of Bebe was played by Lyndy Franklin and the role of Al was played by David Baum.

Aaron went on as one of the cut dancers (wrong arms roy) at Saturday's matinee covering for David Baum who was on as Al. The other new male swing also went on as a cut dancer filling E Clayton Cornelious' track. Mike Cannon played his usual role and wore the headband (since Grant Turner was on Don).

[hehe, this is quickly turning into the Aaron Love thread]
Doesn't look like he'll be in ACL for much longer:

Now that I'm home..the other new male swing that was in on Saturday was Josh Walden.
Not sure if they are vacation or permanent swings...my guess is they realized they just needed more since there were a few nights with barely any cut dancers.

Posted: 3/14/07 at 9:50pmOkay. Well Josh Walden is a vacation swing. It seems like it would be wise of them to have those extra swings. Thanks for the information. I (still) need to see this production.

On Tuesday night, Nadine went on as Cassie, David Baum as Bobby & Jessica Lee Patty as Judy. Lyndy Franklin then played Lois, Joey Dudding as Roy & Aaron J. Albano as Frank(Mike Cannon was out, too).
And I'm gueesing Josh Walden is a vacation swing as his name isn't in the playbill.

Do you know how RARE it is to see the entire cast of A Chorus Line? When they do 8 shows a week and the cast of approximately 18 (give or take Zach/Larry) and they all put strain on different parts of their bodies due to the difficult dancing, probability dictates that only is there a slight chance you will catch the entire cast. It was no different with the original run of ACL, that's just how it goes.
re: A Chorus Line Notes#16
Posted: 3/19/07 at 12:34pmThat's why they've added additional swings. Just doing the opening combination is dangerous.
