I know a lot of people said it was too soon or that the revival couldn't recapture the magic of the original, but with the exception of D'Amboise (who I just couldn't get on board with at all), I thoroughly enjoyed this production. I'm happy that it's a success.

I still don't understand how this production cost $8 million!
May I just say that as much as I am happy that they recouped, I think its partially due to the fact that the cheapest ticket is $86!!!! I still haven't seen it for that reason. This show is about young people and they can't even offer us a decient discount.

ACL has had the 20/20 promotion for a while (20 seats at $20), and has offered discounts occassionally and has also been on TKTS, but if any show is able to do well without discounts, why should they offer them? Its all about making the most money possible. Except for the lottery or student rush, Wicked and Jersey Boys don't offer any discounts either.
ACL is not about young people, its about hopes and dreams and putting yourself out there for something you really want, and dealing with the fact that you may not get it. Its universal, it is not about young people.
I just wish they would extend past July 8th for ticket sales... I need tickets for July 14th and want to order now! LOL I saw it in October and loved it... This time I'm bringing 6 people with me..
FYI: Congrats to A Chorus Line!

I had no idea its been on TKTS or that they offered discounts. I am also not familair with the 20/20 promotion either.

i dont understand why they needed to invest 8 million- they have no sets, and minimal costumes that seem very inexpensive. what cost so much? mirrors and the suits for"one" couldn't cost that much.
Rent, salaries, advertising and promotion... it all adds up quickly.
Its been on TKTS a lot in the past few weeks, with some perfs at 50% and some at 25%. I believe the discount code has recently expired, but they did offer one for a short period. The 20/20 promotion is their rush/lottery tickets, altho I do not know if it is a student rush or a general rush, and the seats are "partial view". During the bitter cold weather, I heard that they did not limit the number of $20 seats to 20 patrons, but were selling $20 tkts to anyone who arrived for the lottery. However, with good weather on the horizon and the influx of tourists approaching, I would bet that discounts to ACL will be tougher to come by, so if you want to see it at a discount, don't wait too long.
Congrats to them!!
i thought drowsy was quick!

I am so happy for ACL, I hope it lasts long enough to pass its original run! At first when I read the headline on Playbill.com I thought they were going to say that they earned back the money and so they are closing...but when I read the article I was so relieved...I am very excited about a tour!
