re: "Amex gold card"
This policy allways buged me too. The last thing I need is another credit card, and one that has a $90 something a year fee toboot. But most Amex presales now are for any Amex card, so I finally broke down and got one (with no fee), for The Drowsy Chaperone.
Speaking of Drowsy, I think it would be great if they could have had The Schoenfeld, and A Chorus Line take The Marquis.
I wonder if, for the presale, ALL seats are up for grabs or if, as with some presales I have worked on, a specific allocation is set aside at each performance for the presale.
I'll be getting my tickets for this ASAP. No discount codes for me.
If the Schoenfeld doesn't have a pit that might not be a bad thing. When the original was at The Public the orchestra was offstage. And when the original production was on Broadway the pit was completley covered as to not destroy the illusion of an empty theatre. Bennett even requested that the musicians not warm up within ear shot of the audience members.

This is so great! I can't wait!
I'm gonna see it in SF! I have a friend who is a subscriber so I can get a super great seat. (Sorry I don't usually brag but I can't help it this time :)
ACL is the first live theatre I paid myself and saw (in Japan!), so needless to say, a very special show for me.

I can't wait!! This is going to be awsome
I require knowing exactly when the tickets will be going on sale.
I think I might try to catch this in tryouts, previews, AND in NYC. I love it that much, and I happen to be lucky enough to reside in the Bay Area during the summer.
The BWW article says tickets go on sale June 18th, but doesn't make mention if there will be an AMEX pre-sale or not.

are the Rachelle Rak as Shelia rumors true?
Nope, unfortunately Rak isn't Sheila....
I really think ACL will be a hit durings it's first year or two. It's a huge favorite among theatre fans and think it'll be a success. I don't see it running as long as the original though(even though I'd like to see it).
They ultimately decided to go in a very different direction than Rak for Sheila...

I can't beleive it. I'm actually going to get to see this show...on Broadway. I just can't beleive it.
On the one hand, I am absolutely thrilled about this. I saw the final matinee performance of the original as a kid in 1990 and spent the rest of the afternoon outside the Shubert watching all of the press get ready for the evening performance, met the cast who came out inbetween shows, etc. It is one of the best theatre-related memories I have. On a separate (and selfish) note, I can't believe I am getting old enough to go to revivals of shows I saw the first time around!!!
Try being 44 and having seen it originally in 1979.
oh, this show has such a special place in my life. I saw the original cast (and many subsequent casts), and I can't WAIT to see it again.
I also can't wait to introduce my niece to it.
Count me among those who will try to be at the first preview.
