I was lucky enough to be there (had no idea!) and it was pretty beautiful. Very informal and funny. Caitlin quickly quieted the crowd down after curtain call, then introduced Bob Martin, who cracked a few jokes, and said he thinks, yes, it is the first time anyone’s ever been married at a Broadway show (“because when you google ‘Broadway wedding,’ all that comes up is ‘The Wedding Singer’&rdquo
. I didn’t see a single soul in the crowd leave during the short ceremony (maybe 8 or so minutes) and by the end everyone was cheering and the couple got a standing ovation from the full house. Was sad to read that one of the brides has struggled with her family accepting her, as multiple characters in The Prom do, but this must have been a very beautiful and validating event; as a witness, it was quite special.
