I’d prefer a grand revival and then film it. Julie Andrews and cate Blanchett with TImothee Chalamet. But yes I agree we need more lnm

OH MY YES!!!...the most perfect of Sondheim musicals...book score sets acting...needs a more perfect movie...maybe Sondheim can use one of the songs from his yet unfinished musical as new material...i love Julie Andrews and Cate Blanchett...OSCARS all around...

I have seen snippets from the movie -- haven't been able to find the complete movie -- and I thought they were reasonably entertaining.  Based what I have seen, I wonder if the movie would have been reviled as much if Liz Taylor was not the star.  Her incredibly thin voice made her singing scenes squirm-worthy.

I thought they did a pretty good job with A Weekend in the Country.  Again, only seen snippets.

In any event, I would love to see a new movie with a qualified cast and an experienced movie director.
